章節 4: Chp 4: Grandma Cici's Presents

After receiving such an expensive gift from Grandma Cici, Vic couldn't help but wonder what else lay inside the bag.

Taking out the belt and putting it on the side, Vic saw a wrapped book in the bag. He reached for it and found another backpack inside. There was a small note on it and after reading it, Vic realised that it was a rather expensive space bag.

Trainers were the main job people took in this world. They not only had powerful Pokemon but also magical powers themselves. All items related to trainers could only be used by using a magical power, which was called aura.

Everyone who reached the age of 15 could get a low-end version of the Pokedex, a starter Pokemon, six pokeballs and a book on aura training from the Pokemon Center.

The earlier you train aura the better you would be at it. However, a parentless child like Vic could only train in aura at the age of 15. He could buy it, but it was too pricey for him. He could barely make up the money to get his starter Pokemon, let alone buying a book on aura training, which he could get for free later.

Fortunately, Grandma Cici prepared this book for him.

As for the space bag he took out, it was put aside by Vic. He didn't even have the ability to use it now. Then, he searched the bag to see if there was anything else. What he took out next was a school uniform, which made him feel quite weird.

'Am I going to school now? What should I do with this?' thought Vic, stupefied.

At this time, Vic noticed there was a slip of paper inside the pocket. He fished the paper from the paper and opened it. As he was reading it, he realised that this was a school admission letter.

There were two kinds of schools in the Pokemon world. One was an ordinary school similar to the one in his past life and the other was a school where various Pokemon-related subjects were taught.

After looking through the admission notice, the school that Vic was about to go to belonged to the latter.

Children learned the usual stuff in the ordinary school before ten and after that they could go study in the Pokemon school. After graduating at the age of 15, they could enter college for further study in the subjects they were interested in or go out to become a trainer to make a living.

On Vic's admission notice, the school's address and the enrolment date were printed, which was about a month from now.

'There is still some time before I need the admission date. It should take at least five days for the journey to get there. For the rest of the time, I must train myself to use aura, at least until I can use the space bag. Don't forget to spend time with Zorua as well.'

While planning the days ahead in his mind, Vik cast his eyes on the window, where the small potted plant was swaying in the breeze.

Zorua seemed to feel someone was staring at him. He opened his eyes and looked at the only living creature in the room — Vic.

Since receiving the gift from Grandma Cici, Vic stayed inside his home all the time. Apart from eating, drinking, sleeping, and building a good relationship with Zorua, he spent all his time training aura every day.

Thankfully, it was easy to understand the contents of the book. But that was only it.

For a week in a row, Vic has been trying to practise according to the method described in the book, trying to complete the crucial last step. However, since there was no one to guide him, his progress was very slow.

On the contrary, the relationship with Zorua had improved a lot. From initially avoiding Vic to now barely being able to come into contact with him. There was a noticeable improvement.

"Forget it, it's really too difficult. I should take some rest. Let me take a look at what is written in Grandma Cici's notebook."

After spending another day with no results, Vic stopped his aura practice for a while. He relaxed on the bed and took out the notebook that Grandma Cici had given him.

As Vic opened the notebook, various complicated recipes appeared before his eyes. Fortunately, he had studied with Grandma Cici for a while and was able to understand what was written on the pages.

Vic didn't waste time flipping through the content and began to read. Nearly an hour later, he finally closed the book, set it down on the table, and got up to stretch his body.

The notebook was filled with many of Grandma Cici's Pokeblock recipes. Truthfully, it was what he needed the most. He was very grateful to Grandma Cici for giving her personal recipes to him. Pokeblock recipes were very precious. Most breeders would only keep their recipes to themselves.

Grandma Cici also wrote about important details to remember when making pokeblocks in the notebook. There was even a basic pokeblock recipe configured by her that could be made for practice.

Although this kind of pokeblock was not as good as those pokeblock made for certain types of Pokemon, it was very cheap to make. Even then, Grandma Cici's basic pokeblock was almost as good as the regular ones sold outside.

More than a week has passed now, and the time for Vic to depart was getting nearer. And he still hadn't yet been able to use aura successfully. On the contrary, his relationship with Zorua worked out pretty well.

Vic knew that Pokemon loved pokeblocks and if he was able to make them, he was pretty sure that he could gain Zorua's friendship soon. The only thing to worry about was he didn't have the Pokeblock Blender.

'I don't have much time left. I should just go ahead and buy one.' After weighing the gains and losses, Vic, who was pressed for time, finally made up his mind.

He went to the drawer in his room and took out the money he initially planned to hand over to the Pokemon Center in exchange for a trainer's licence. A Pokeblock Blender was very expensive.

Even if he spent all his money, it would not even be enough to buy the cheapest one. So he planned to buy a second-hand blender, at least the one that was still usable, and within his budget.

As night fell, Vic put on an old black hoodie and carefully put on makeup to disguise himself. After making sure that he wouldn't be recognised, he walked out of his home, locked the door and made his way to the city's outskirts.

Vic took a shortcut through several blocks, crossing multiple streets and into a dim alley. A short while later, he came to a stop in front of a metal door. He then knocked on the door in a specific pattern and waited.

Not long after that, the door slowly opened and Vic, without hesitation, walked straight in, disappearing into the dark as the door closed behind him.

Vic was moving aimlessly through the dark when all of a sudden, something sticky and long wrapped around his arm and pulled him forward. Apparently, whatever the thing was holding him was guiding him through the dark.
