Happy reading
The two packs of chocolate and cheese sandwiches and a bottle of mineral water in the shopping bag made Gladys gulp. Without feeling his stomach growled as if the worms in there were screaming for their rights.
"Eat! The worms in your stomach are already on demo," said the eagle suddenly making the girl gasp.
Suddenly, Gladys held her stomach with her face flushed with embarrassment as she glanced at the man.
"There's also no benefit for me poisoning a girl whose origin is not clear," continued the Eagle when he found the girl looking hesitant to touch the food he gave her.
Gladys glared at the man who looked relaxed smoking a cigarette while leaning his head and resting his elbow on the window. Then, exhale the cigarette smoke outside. Without intending to heed the Eagle's words, Gladys quickly took a packet and opened it.
"Sometimes people have to be reminded about the words sorry and thank you," said the Eagle without looking at the girl.
Gladys pulled back the bread that was already right on her lips, then looked back at the Eagle with a sneer.
"Okay. I'm sorry for being rude to get into your car, and thank you very much for saving me from those two." The girl said with a smile made as sweet as possible, and after that the smile disappeared immediately, "but, I don't like the way you harass me?" he hissed.
"Harassing how?" asked the Eagle with a furrowed brow.
"Yeah… what you did just now," said the girl nervously as she tucked her hair behind her ear and looked away in any direction. Thinking about it made him both embarrassed and annoyed.
The eagle pressed through his eyes for the girl to continue talking.
"Pull people's heads into your thighs!" Gladys grunted, while the man only responded casually with a shrug.
"Ooh… reflex!" said the eagle coolly.
According to him, the things he did to the girl were ordinary and just spontaneous. However, things were different for the girl.
Hearing the Eagle's answer, which seemed stupid, made the long-haired girl furious and amazed at the same time. He stared at the Eagle wide-eyed and his mouth agape. Can't understand the way of thinking and the sentences that slide easily from the mouth of the Eagle. Usually the man responded casually to his behavior that almost made Gladys' heart jump from its place.
"You …."
Instead of cursing the Eagle, Gladys pursed her lips with an exasperated expression while clenching her hands in front of her chest. He really wanted to hit or grab the eagle if he didn't remember that it was the man who had helped him from being chased by the two executioners.
"Yes, so what should I do?" The eagle answered while raising an eyebrow, "You just suddenly appeared and just said to ask for help, while there were two gorillas that approached my car." He continued in a calm tone.
"Yeah… well you can fight those two right."
"Sorry, I love peace," replied the original Eagle.
Gladys rolled her eyes lazily, then threw her back against the back of the car a little rough. His thin lips seemed to move to say something in a low voice, but the Eagle could still hear it.
Vaguely the corners of the man's lips lifted slightly as he watched Gladys' behavior. However, he immediately put on a straight face when the beautiful girl glanced annoyedly at him.
Really, the Eagle did not mean to insult the beautiful-eyed girl. Somehow that crazy idea just popped into his head and proved successful.
Even though he could have gotten out of the car and faced the two men who had chased Gladys earlier. It was easy for the Eagle to knock them down. But he didn't feel the need to do that.
The man who has tattoos on both arms and back to the nape of the neck is indeed used to the dark world. Fighting with bare hands or using weapons is nothing new to him.
"You should be able to start the car, then quickly leave the place," said Gladys, who was not satisfied with the answer of the man beside her.
The eagle threw the cigarette butt out the window, after taking a deep breath. Then, turned and glared at Gladys. He slowly leaned forward until the girl had to back away to avoid the Eagle and finally stopped when her back touched the car door.
"What do you want?" asked Gladys in a trembling voice.
While the Eagle still did not budge, looking at the girl with a gaze that was difficult to interpret. Their faces are now barely apart. They could even feel the warmth of each other's breath hitting their faces.
Gladys panicked even more as the Eagle's face drew closer. His brain began to think no-no. However, the Eagle's voice shook off all the bad thoughts and replaced it with a sense of awkwardness.
"Do I need to remember whose car this is?" quipped Eagle in a flat voice and look, while Gladys blinked rapidly.
A moment later the man immediately pulled away from Gladys' face, who was still trying to neutralize her heartbeat because of the Eagle's actions just now. The girl seemed to be back straightening her slender body while secretly heaving a sigh of relief.
The eagle gestured with a chin movement and eye gaze for the girl to continue her activities that had been delayed. Gladys understood, then took a sizable bite of the bread and chewed it quickly.
His sudden escape from the goddamn wedding left him with no time to prepare, at least for breakfast. If only he had known that today he would have the opportunity to run away, maybe he wouldn't have left his stomach empty nor had he forgotten to bring some money.
The hunger and pain in her stomach that had been whacked for a long time made Gladys ignore the words of guarding the image that she had been glorifying. Especially when he's with someone he doesn't even know.
"Why were those people after you?" asked the Eagle in his usual voice and not as cold as before.
"I hurt their boss," Gladys finally said after swallowing the first piece of bread in her mouth and taking a sip of water.
"Are you a prostitute?"
The Eagle's question choked Gladys. The girl coughed while patting her chest with a bright red face. Then, immediately glared at the Eagle fiercely.
"What?!" cried Gladys disapprovingly, "don't talk carelessly! I'm a good girl."
"Yes, sorry. I'm just asking," said the Eagle, shrugging his shoulders. While the girl looked scowled and went back to biting the rest of the bread and chewing it in annoyance.
"Besides, you came out of a nightclub being chased by two men wearing clothes like this. Who doesn't think that way?" said the Eagle again, glancing at the clothes attached to Gladys's body.
For a moment Gladys looked at her own body and confirmed the Eagle's words. The dress is quite sexy and revealing and her appearance is already disheveled, plus she's out of the nightclub. Other people who saw her would definitely think that she was a bad girl.
However, he chose not to respond to the Eagle's words just now and went back to enjoying the rest of the bread left in his hands with his thoughts elsewhere.
Realizing that he had offended Gladys, the Eagle only watched her movements in silence. Letting him finish the food and holding back his curiosity about what really happened to the girl.
