章節 27: Refusing A Gift From Charlie
From morning until noon, Luna was silent in her room. As usual, this time she refused when the waiter brought food and drink to her lady's room. Jessica and Arthur were worried about their daughter who didn't want to eat anything, even she was lazy to talk to her parents.
After Luna officially became Andy's fiancée, Charlie gave one of the companies he owned to Luna. Charlie hoped his future daughter-in-law would accept another gift from him, but Luna had absolutely no interest in being a leader in the company.
Luna conveyed what was in her heart to Arthur and Jessica, and they again forced their will on their daughter. Last night when Jessica's family had dinner together, Arthur told Luna that Charlie wanted Luna as CEO of his food and goods delivery company.
"Luna, Charlie is very kind and loves you like his own daughter. He gifted you a company that he currently manages. If you want, you can be CEO of two companies at the same time, how about My Daughter?" Arthur asked Luna hopefully.
"How can I be the CEO of two different companies at the same time, Dad? If I become a leader in Mr. Charlie's company, then I have to give up my position at Aurora Fashion," said Luna indifferently, she replied Arthur without looked at him. Luna cut the beef roughly because she was very annoyed with Arthur.
"Can't you be the leader of Aurora Fashion and Moonstone Express, Luna?" Arthur looked seriously at his daughter.
"I can't. I can only lead one company," said Luna.
"My Daughter, I beg you not to refuse a gift from your future in-laws. You should be grateful that Charlie chose you to serve on the Moonstone Express, instead of choosing Fransica or Andy to serve there," Jessica interrupted.
"I am sorry, Mom. I don't want to and I can't,'" Luna lifted her face and then looked alternately at Arthur and his wife," "Don't force me to follow your wishes, let me choose what I like and what I don't like. Are Mom and Dad not satisfied with torturing me by arrange marriage me with Andy?!"
"Why do you think so, Luna? Everything we do is for your own good, we don't mean to torture you," Jessica added gently, "Your future will be better if you marry Andy than if you choose Robert as your husband.
"If you feel yourself tormented by the arranged marriage we arranged for you, then are you sure your life will be happier and less tormented if you choose Robert as your husband??! You know very well who Robert is, but you've been in touch with him for years!" said Arthur, he looked at his daughter with a dissapointed look.
"Enough, Dad! I am sick of all this!" sprayed Luna returned her father's gaze, then she drank the orange juice quickly until it ran out and after that she immediately left the dining room.
Luna stepped into her room, closed the door tightly, then lay down on the soft and comfortable bed. She squeezed her tight chest tightly and sobbed.
In the dining room, Jessica took a deep breath when she saw Luna's behavior changed completely after getting engaged to Andy. While Arthur shook his head as he said to Jessica, "Since when did she become so rude, Jessica??"
"I don't know, Arthur," Jessica said annoyed.
"Look at your favorite child! Now she dares to fight her parents!" Arthur exclaimed to Jessica.
