章節 48: New destination
Blush began treating old man Arbor using a combination of magic power and medical skills to detect where the source of the problem was to isolate and slow it down temporarily.
He seemed able to move a little better than before so he could sign several documents that Blush had prepared for the handing over of his assets.
Another spell was cast on old man Arbor which had sent him into a deep sleep. "When you wake up you will be better and you will be a brand new person. Now I need to prepare the rest."
Blush placed her hand on his head and cast another spell which allowed her to read through his memories and had gained anything that she would need to secure the properties as effectively as possible.
She took back the contract and placed it inside the gourd once again before leaving the room. 'Someone still needs to watch over him until I return so I should have those slackers do something.'
The witches were living in her home and had not really done a lot since coming so it was their chance to do something.
Blush made a quick trip back towards her home and then got in contact with someone that could go over the documents that were signed by Arbor.
Any necessary things that were needed were found by her like the land or building deeds, identification or seals of Arbor and any other important documents.
Someone that handled wills and the transferring of properties between people within the city was hired to speed up the process before others had found out what was happening.
The witches were scheduled to take turns to look over old man Arbor while she was away and Blush calmly walked out of the city gates.
Blush was safe within the city where it was out in the open but she could faintly sense some presences that were watching her movements closely and were following her while truing to conceal themselves. 'It seems that the previous incident has made some curious about me..'
Once she had went further up the road, she stepped off the road and entered the forest area which helped to conceal her better from others.
Once she had stepped out of the line of sight of others, Blush transformed into a bird and flew up into the tree then watched below.
There were some people that were dressed in clothes to conceal their appearance better that walked by and had stopped as they looked around.
"She is gone?"
"Did she notice us?"
"Her tracks stop here, it seems that she knows how to conceal herself quite well."
"Should we chase her?"
"Hmm.. the city lord only asked us to gain more information on her and watch her movements. We are only to make a move if she shows any signs of getting in the way of his plans.
A bird was perched on a branch above and listened intently then watched as they went to search the area further before heading back to the city. 'The newly appointed city lord has had some people watch over me.. even more reason for me to leave this place sooner or later so that I can avoid being caught up with the upcoming power struggles.'
She then flapped her wings and flew off into the sky as she followed the memories that she had to lead her towards her next destination.
As she passed over the trees, mountains and grassland, she saw many carriages, people and animals moving about like tiny ants.
Once Blush had got much closer to the place that she had known, she sat up in a tree until it became dark and chewed on some fruits that had been brought with her.
Her spells were helping to keep track of the movements inside and she could finally detect a human form that was familiar to her which had various habits that she had remembered clearly.
Certain people had different movement or behavioural patterns so as long as they did not change them in a big way after a long time being away from her, Blush would be able to distinguish them from detecting them with her magic even if she could not see their appearance or could not hear their voice.
Her foot touched the ground after jumping down from the tree and then she had transformed into the shape of another animal.
Her body had become a very small and slender rodent shape which had a narrow head, long neck and short legs with a small tail.
Blush had become a small weasel which had begun to dig into the ground and burrowed into the small tunnel that was forming with the use of her claws and the assistance of her magic which made the soil easier to move out of her way and create the tunnels.
Inside a dark underground laboratory, there was a man who was thin and slovenly who had just got up from finishing an experiment then lay down.
He fell into a deep sleep for some time before a strange change took place in a part of the room.
A stone brick had moved out of place without making much noise or resistance then an opening was created that was big enough for a small slender creature to poke through.
It pointed towards the man who was far away with its small front claw when the man had shown signs of moving or waking up. 'Sleep.'
Due to him being already in a sleeping state, it was easy for her sleep magic to work better without gaining any kind of resistance.
The small weasel dropped down into the room and transformed into a pink skinned female which had pointed ears, green hair and red eyes.
Blush calmly walked towards the side of the bed and revealed a cold smirk. "Such a troublesome man you are.. long time no see."
Her palm made contact with his head and a stream of information and memories had become available to her as it was absorbed into her memory.
Those memories and pieces of knowledge were compiled into different categories before turning into mental books to be placed on the bookshelves and sorted within her mental space that was in the form of a library.
The more that she gathered knowledge from others, the more that the bookshelves were more crowded and the more the space had grown to accommodate that knowledge.
Blush did not need to touch anything within the room to gain any materials or knowledge from them due to what she had gained.
She took one final cold look towards the man which had become thinner and had aged a lot over the years. "Farewell Dr Gero."
Her form changed into a smaller shape of a weasel once again then jumped back into the hole.
The brick was slotted back into place after she fit through it and then the room returned to silence as Dr Gero slept not knowing that someone had robbed him of his most valuable research and discoveries that he had spent so long on.
