章節 585: Chapter 584: Say important things three times (Edited)

"Fish, memories are a very personal thing, I don't suppose you would tell anyone else about Draco's memories."

It was Professor Snape who took the floor again, relieving Draco, saying, "And for these things to leak out of your mouth, and the possibility of revealing that Draco learned Occlumency, and still maintains a friendly relationship with you, could endanger the Draco family if the Dark Lord and his servants were to find out."

"Of course Fish won't say anything nya! Fish is no fool!"

(`н´)

Fish yelled at Snape pouting.

He was very annoyed at his lack of confidence.... Fish was very secretive!

Draco, for his part, shot Snape a grateful look; if it came out, it would be worse to look bad than to make Voldemort suspicious.

It wouldn't have occurred to him if Snape hadn't warned him.

Snape sighed inwardly.

He spoke up for Draco not only for the above reasons, but also because Draco's story was so much like his own, when he had been in the carriage with Lily Evans, and then those two heavies, James Potter and Sirius Black, had come over to argue with him, and their feud had been buried....

Though his role at first seemed more Ron's than Draco's.

Shaking his head to shake off the silliness, Snape warned Draco sternly, "If you let yourself be so easily affected emotionally, then you, Lucius and Narcissa should prepare for the end before it's too late! The Dark Lord is not to be fooled."

Then he looked at Fish again and said with a somewhat complicated expression, "You just did well, Fish...".

To be honest, Snape hadn't expected Fish to be able to break through Draco's psychological defenses so easily, and twice in a row. What Fish had just said, though it sounded very much in his style, had the effect of a carefully prepared speech of sorts, hitting Draco's emotional switch with perfect precision....

Snape wondered if it was a coincidence or if Fish had done it on purpose, and while it was unlikely that Fish would do it in his usual manner, he had a vague sense of familiarity about it.

"Hehehe," Fish said to Draco, shaking his head smugly, then turned to Malfoy, "Severus was right nya, you can't hide from Voldemort like that."

Fish looked at Draco with a serious gesture, admonishing him, but also relieving Snape's mind of any doubt, "Fish was able to influence your emotions so easily just now, using a method he learned from Voldemort nya!"

(ˇˇ)

Snape: !!!

Malfoy: !!!!

"What did you say?!" Snape exclaimed, "That you learned it from the Dark Lord?!!"

He finally knew where that familiarity came from...but he'd rather not know at the moment.

Snape's body was in a cold sweat and he thought of many things in an instant, had Fish fallen under the Dark Lord's Imperius Curse or had he actually defected to the Dark Lord?

After all, Snape had not seen Fish defeat Voldemort, and Voldemort was so fond of him that Snape would never have betrayed him had it not been for Lily.

Draco, for his part, didn't think twice and asked curiously, "How did you learn about the Dark Lord? And where did you learn it?"

"In the diary."

(?ω?)

Fish looked at the rambunctious pair in surprise and scratched the back of his neck. "Didn't Albus say in second year nya, that Fish found a Voldemort diary and that he could talk to him Voldemort hidden in it by writing in it nya?"

Fish related to the two what had happened.

"... Albus asked Fish to help him with the diary, the Voldemort in it was such a liar that Fish wouldn't have known he was lying or trying to set him up many times if Albus hadn't been there to analyze it for him."

"As bad as that Voldemort guy is, he has a knack for deception nya.... And so does Albus!" Fish cocked his head to the side and said proudly, "You could say that Fish learned how to cheat from both Voldemort and Albus!"

(?ω?)

No wonder!

Snape realized, he had thought Fish's words sounded familiar, but not exactly in Voldemort's style.... so there was Dumbledore involved!

The corners of his eyes twitched as he loudly condemned Dumbledore's actions of spoiling Fish.

Draco also remembered the diary, and wondered why he hadn't found it himself....

If he had found the diary, Draco would have given it to his father, he thought Lucius would have been glad to see it...after all, his father hadn't thought of betraying Voldemort.

Malfoy spoke his thoughts at the moment, then caught Fish looking at him strangely.

"What, what's wrong?" Draco unconsciously touched his cheek, thinking he had something dirty on it.

Fish remembered that Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall had only asked him to keep the Horcrux a secret, and since the Malfoy's were planning to betray Volde

So, it's safe!

After a moment of deliberation, tight-lipped Fish decisively told Malfoy the truth, "That diary, it's the one Lucius passed to Ginny nya."

"H... ha?!"

Malfoy and Snape exclaimed in surprise.

"I think Arthur was looking for dark magic items at the time..."

(?ω?)

Fish recapped what he had heard from Professor McGonagall, ".... Later, Lucius supposedly took the opportunity of a fight with Arthur to pass Voldemort's diary to Ginny, and Minerva said he probably tried to use it to frame Arthur nya."

Fish said everything he knew about the diary, except about the Horcruxes.

"Fish also smelled the same scent on Lucius during the Quidditch World Cup that Dobby had left and guessed that he had thrown the diary away at school, and that's how Albus found out about it nya."

"Dobby?!" Draco exclaimed once more, "Fish, you know Dobby?"

"Yes, he's working in the Hogwarts kitchens now."

Fish nodded, giving Draco another piece of news that surprised him.

Just as Draco was about to ask more questions, Snape suddenly asked, "The diary, is it still there?"

"No, Albus burned it nya." Fish replied, holding out his hands.

"Draco..." Snape let out a long sigh and looked at Draco with a grave expression, "You need to inform Lucius as soon as possible, so he can be prepared. If the Dark Lord finds out that Lucius threw away his diary and that Dumbledore destroyed it, he'll be out of luck."

Draco's face paled instantly as he realized how dangerous what his father had done had been.

"I'm going to tell Dad!".

He was in no mood to practice Occlumency and ran out the door.

Snape didn't stop him, but waited for him to leave and then looked at Fish.

"Something wrong with that paper?" He asked.

Knowing Lucius as Snape knew him, if the diary had been an ordinary object of dark magic, he wouldn't have rushed to get rid of it just because the Ministry of Magic was examining it....

Those old purebloods had too many ways of hiding things, and if they couldn't, they could throw them into Gringotts, and the Ministry had no control over the goblin banks.

Besides, if it was just a diary of Voldemort's thoughts and memories, Dumbledore wouldn't have destroyed it so easily, even if Fish had more or less done his job, Dumbledore would have found other uses for the diary....

Unless the diary itself was something so dangerous that Dumbledore was afraid to keep it for very long.

O... Was something important to Voldemort, in which case, Lucius was in danger....

Snape stared at Fish, waiting for him to give him an answer.

"Fish doesn't know nya, Fish just did what Albus told him to do and talked to Voldemort for a long time.... At that time Fish didn't know Rita yet and he needed to write on his own, he was a bother nya!".

(〃`3〃)

However, at Snape's question, Fish decided to play dumb.

Again...

Fish's mouth is tight!
