Samuel finished talking to Jane after letting everyone know about his situation. He started taking heavy fire from the furthest corridor; it was a suppressed shot but from a semi-automatic gun, so the damage was substantial.

He poked his head out a few times and immediately noticed the difference in skill from his previous encounters. Due to his sudden entry and his positioning at the motel's top floor, only a few guys were present, and others were climbing stairs to reach his position.

The people on his floor were more skilled, probably because Elise was on this floor. He could sense her presence and knew she was still unconscious. Maybe they didn't want her to fight back and give her more doses of the sleeping agent, but it was good.

The thick wooden plank he hid behind became increasingly tattered with each passing bullet. He had to devise a plan; he could go in and attack freely, but he noticed the cameras all throughout the corridor.
