章節 26: Chapter 47: Pool party
Steve, Melissa and Nicky arrived at Steve's house. It was a huge two storey building. It was amazing, there was a fountain at the centre of the compound and a small park full of beautiful flowers and plants in front of the house. It was really lovely.
"Is this really your house." Nicky asked amazed. This had to be one of the most beautiful houses she had ever seen.
Happy that she was impressed Steve replied that it was indeed his house when actually it was his family's vacation home. They stayed in it anytime they visited the States. But he was staying in it for the mean time.
The girls got into the house and Melissa had to agree with Nicky that the house was truly amazing. A gorgeous chandelier was seen the moment they entered. Fancy lamps hanging on the ceiling really brightened the place. White ceramic tiles and glass walls. Melissa and Nicky really thought they had walked into a castle.
Just then girl neatly dressed in a uniform walked over to them and greeted them with a polite smile. She introduced herself as Ruth and said she would be attending to all there needs this weekend.
"Ruth knows this house better than l do she'll show you around and take you to your rooms. Please feel at home. The party it gonna start by ten at the back of the house with just a few friends and guests. Until then you guys can just do what ever you want."
Melissa looked at Nicky and Nicky looked right back.
"Wanna explore?" Nicky asked.
"Absolutely."
The girls went from room to room and every single time they opened a door they were amazed by what was behind it. The house had everything. A gym, infinity pool, mini theatre, library, plaza, wine cellar, game room and so much more.
"I can't believe this place." Nicky said as she layed on the soft bed back in one of the guestrooms. They were done exploring the house.
"Yeah, it's pretty cool."
"If l lived in such a house l would never go outside again."
"I think that's a bit much." Melissa said with a laugh and Nicky joined in.
"True. But l can't help it. This place is amazing. I'm glad l came with you." Just then a knock was heard from the door "come in."
Ruth the girl they had met earlier walked in holding tray filled with snacks and a properly wrapped box. She placed the tray of snacks on a small fancy table at the centre of the room then walked over to the bed and placed the neatly wrapped box on it.
"Mr Macklin asked me to bring this to you." Ruth said politely.
Nicky sprang to her feet and without asking she ripped the box open. She really wanted to know what was in the neatly wrapped box. But the moment she opened it her facial expression changed drastically.
"Seriously." Nicky said in slight frown
"What?" Melissa asked. She couldn't get a view of what was inside the box.
"Bikinis." Nicky said turning the box upside down and pouring out its content.
"Why would Steve send us this?" Melissa asked Ruth who was still standing there quietly.
"Oh. I understand the confusion. Did Mr Macklin not tell you. The party downstairs is a pool party and Mr Macklin asked me to pick these out for you."
"A pool party?" Melissa asked.
"Yes." Ruth replied.
"Ok, I'm comfortable knowing that now. For a second there l thought a lot of things." Nicky said as she stared at the bikinis.
"I'm not wearing that. I won't be comfortable. Can't l just wear anything." Melissa asked Ruth.
"Off course you can. But l could get a better one if you don't like these." Ruth suggested. She really didn't want to offend these ladies. Her boss Mr Macklin has never brought women to his house like this. I mean occasionally he would bring one or two over but after he was done with them they would leave immediately. This time it seemed different. He had asked her to see to there every need no doubt that they were different and she didn't want to offend them.
"No, I'm good l just wouldn't feel comfortable wearing a bikini or a swimsuit. Just because it's a pool party doesn't mean l have to get into the pool." Melissa replied and Ruth nodded in agreement.
"Well I'm gonna wear mine. We don't want our host feeling bad. And l think it would be really nice to get a good swim." Nicky said with a grim.
