“You’re right,” Rowan admitted. “You’re so right. There's nothing I can say to undo all your anguish. All I can do is ask for your forgiveness, Alpha Female.”

Mila was stunned. The cold, arrogant Alpha not only apologized but also admitted he had messed up. She looked to see if the sun was rising from the west.

Fatigue hit her. A part of her wanted to bask in the warmth of his lack of coldness. The painkillers were starting to work, and she yawned.

“Why should I forgive you?” she asked sleepily.

Rowan brushed her curls away from her face gently.

“You don’t have to. I deserve to feel your anger. So does Sloane. Hopefully, she’ll realize her place and act a little more lowkey. I just need you to know that I…” Rowan’s voice drifted off.

“Sleep, Mila. Rest will help you heal faster,” he whispered gently. “ Just let me help you get better faster for now, okay?”
