"Take off your mask," Dezhong froze in place, standing in the middle of Kong's Underground Base. Kong himself was behind him, ordering him to remove the ridiculous mask he was wearing. The gang leader, furious at Dezhong, grew impatient and tried to take the mask off himself.

"Wait!" Dezhong shouted, waving his arms around. "It's not what you think. I encountered a couple of Serpents at the Swamp, and they chased me into town. When I had a chance to escape, I thought wearing a mask would help me stay disguised, and it did."

"It's true, Sir," Blake said as he, Luke, and the rest of the Hunters entered the scene. "I saw them chasing him, so I followed, but I lost sight of him. Glad you're alive, Dezhong." Blake and Luke looked on as their friend was questioned by their gang leader.
