章節 27: Chapter 27: Strands of Fate

Catherine sat in her study as she thought back about the previous conversation she had with the children of Kaguya.

'I'm glad Kaguya had transformed into the Ten-Tails, if she was able to make conscious decisions, that battle would have been immensely more difficult. Fate shouldn't steer too much from its original variation due to my not changing any key events. Manipulating the brothers wasn't that difficult either, with me informing them about their Clan making them grow more cautious, and perhaps they could be decent aid for me when I eventually have to deal with Shibai.' Catherine thought, with the terrifying God of the Otsutsuki coming to mind when thinking of her eventual enemies.

The abilities that she saw used in Boruto no longer seemed as simple as Jutsu, with it being much more reminiscent of Spells or Reality Warping.

Especially the Shinjutsu that were brought up in the final chapters before the time skip. The changing of the fundamentals of reality showcased the power that rivaled some of the strongest beings in existence.

Honestly, the feat still befuddled Catherine as she was unsure if the power simply changed the minds of the people in the world, or if it changed the timeline to the point that Kawaki and Boruto changed lives.

If Catherine had to guess, the strength of Shibai was probably on the same level as beings like Dormammu or Cyttorak when they reside in their own dimensions.

However, these levels of entities weren't comparable to the power of Agamotto, as they and other Realm Lords combined were not able to overcome his vast magical might.

This was why Catherine showed little fear in regard to entities like these because she felt that given enough time, she would be able to thoroughly overpower even Shibai.

And time was something she had an overwhelming abundance of, with the green gem around her neck ensuring that.

Catherine then changed her attention to something else, as she made a small orb appear in her palm, with it having small blue sparks inside of it that seemed to be unsuccessfully attempting to escape.

"Now what should I do with you, you pesky little strand?" Catherine asked in a teasing voice, with most powerful entities in the world likely unable to believe that she was speaking so casually to a strand of fate.

The thing that drives the universe forward and manipulates even the oldest and most powerful entities, was currently being trapped by Catherine.

When it had attempted to forcefully disrupt her spell, she trapped a few strands of it so that she could study it at a later time.

Catherine had now trapped an entity that could be considered an abstract being, though Catherine knew that if she had trapped a large amount of the strands, even she would be unable to truly contain it for a long period of time.

But now that Catherine had contained what could be regarded as her first enemy in this world, she was going to ensure that it could no longer alter her plans for the future in any major way.

Catherine seemed like a mad scientist based on the way she laughed as she prepared to study the strands, though after thinking about it, she decided to wait until she finished matters other than her dealings with Kaguya before proceeding.

Catherine called for the 2 masters of this generation, the now much older Hikaru and a middle-aged man named Zhou, with them both bowing with the utmost respect upon seeing her.

"Let the disciples of Kamar Taj know that they can once again take on missions, but also tell them that I will be implementing a new system to decrease fatalities based on the strength of the sorcerers. While letter grading may be efficient to some, we shall instead be using a system that gives them a rank based on merit instead of strength, though all promotions must be approved by me." Catherine explained, before she gave them an in-depth rundown on the changes.

A major issue had been that lower-ranked sorcerers would be sacrificed as they charged head-first into battle and often wound up deceased.

This system would be much more life-saving for them and enhance not only the number of sorcerers in the future but also their skills.

She hadn't been able to focus primarily on it before with her constantly monitoring Kaguya and being forced to keep her within her eyes view.

Both seemed to grow to respect Catherine's thinking even further, as once she left, they stood in amazement at her foresight.

"I didn't expect the Sorcerer Supreme to be so astounding!! I couldn't even detect her mana, as if she didn't have any." Zhao said with stars in his eyes.

Hikaru could only stroke his beard as before he responded.

"Lady Sorcerer Supreme has always been unfathomable. Even with all these years of me practicing magic and her considering me to be a genius, I still can't hold a candle to her greatness."

They both left still speaking on her greatness, while the Sorcerer Supreme merely sneezed in confusion as she headed to meet with the 3 leaders of the Sage Lands.
