章節 8: Jessy's Wedding Day

Lisa Pov ;

I shut the dressing room door a little loudly, annoyed. To be more precise I'm not feeling disappointed, angry or upset, I'm just not happy with Dave's engagement or wedding jokes and his talk about his fortune.

He held my hand, kissed me and held me to his heart's content without asking my permission. How great was his acting in front of Jessy, of how he wouldn't allow anyone else to touch me, even if it was my own brother. I even almost got lost in his story. The way he stares at me when he sees me in an open dress, the way he whispers next to my ear, yeah he knows it will instantly make me freeze.

What's with all that attitude? Like me? No, he just looks like he does it a lot, flirting with girls. Look! I was clearly walking in irritated but he didn't even come after me. Unlucky. What do you expect Lisa?

It was thirty minutes past three, an hour and a half before the event started.

The wedding organizers still seemed to be pacing around making sure the room decorations were done well. The flowers are neatly arranged in every corner. Elegant white shades spoil the eye. My heart even beats a little just by standing on the altar prepared for the bride and groom.

Marriage, in my plans for the future, seems to be very far away. I've felt it, the feeling of wanting to be married to the man I love. But who would have thought, the relationship could no longer last until I fulfilled that feeling. I was very disappointed at the time, disappointed in the man, disappointed in myself and in the situation.

"Miss Lisa, Mrs. Wilson is waiting for you in the dressing room!" an event staff called me outside the door. I nodded, following behind him.

Jane was already sitting there when I opened the dressing room door. Jessy was doing makeup, I looked around the room, Dave wasn't there. Has he left? Just like that?

"Who are you looking for Lisa?" Jane realized I was still in the , confirming something. I shook my head, smiling awkwardly. Jessy caught a glimpse of me in the mirror's reflection.

"You look so beautiful today Jane." I took a seat next to Jane.

"Really? Gosh your eyes can still see well Lisa." Jane laughed happily, took a small mirror in her bag, looked in the mirror again. She chuckled again, happy to be praised.

"That dress is very beautiful on you Lisa!" Jane looked at me from head to toe, then pulled me to my feet.

"I'm sorry Jane, I didn't take good care of the dress, it was a little wrinkled not as pretty as you gave it to me." I feel guilty, Jane gave this expensive dress to me, but I-no! It was Dave who made him what he is today. Oh shit, I keep thinking about it.

"That's okay honey, I'll have someone make it the way it was, you have to go get make up first!" Jane pushed me, forcing me to sit in front of the mirror. The table was full of makeup tools I didn't recognize. Jane left the room after picking up the phone, leaving me with the woman who was doing my makeup awkwardly.

I woke up when Ginny, the woman who did my makeup, tapped my shoulder lightly. I didn't realize exactly when I fell asleep, maybe because it was boring.

I slowly opened my eyes, looking at my reflection in the mirror. I was silent, like I saw my other self. It should only be light makeup, but I feel more beautiful and confident.

....

At five in the afternoon, the show will start in ten minutes. Jessy was also ready with her long dress. She looks so beautiful, Dalen keeps holding her hand. They both looked nervous, especially Dalen. Jane even gave him a sedative. Marriage is supposed to happen once in a lifetime, if they can keep it. Since I've never experienced it, I can't feel what they're feeling right now.

Jane asked me to go to the wedding hall with her, Andrea was welcoming the guests.

The entrance of the hall looks crowded, Andrea is seen chatting with his co-workers, maybe. Dalen was their only son, of course they were very happy when they heard the news of this marriage a few months ago.

Jane pulled my hand, towards the event hall. The chairs for invited guests were half filled. Actually it was not a big event, the only invited guests were Andrea and Dalon's family and co-workers. Jane and I sat in the front seat, the family member's seat. Jane looks excited.

"Don't you want to marry Lisa? I can introduce someone to you." Jane whispered in my ear, small, but overpowering the music. I fell silent. In fact, my ears seem to be very sensitive these days. It was Dave who really enjoyed talking in a whisper in my ear, he knew he would be quiet that way.

"Lisa, are you okay?" Jane held my hand worried, I was a little lost earlier. Unlucky. My brain seems to have reached a dangerous level. Dave is a real source of trouble for my body.

"I'm fine Jane, just thinking about something a little." I smiled, reassuringly.

"So you want me to introduce someone dear?" Jane asked again.

I just smiled in response.

Ten minutes passed. The event starts soon.

The wedding ceremony lasted more than two hours, after the photo session, then the dance. Jessy and Dalen had already changed for the dance. The lights spin, dance music plays, the dance party begins.

I don't know how to dance and I'm not interested either. Jane and Andrea also joined in among the other couples who were dancing in the middle of the hall. I walked towards the corner of the hall, there was a table of snacks and drinks there. If asked to choose between men and food, then I will firmly choose food.

I'm one of the lucky girls, even though I eat a lot-especially sweet food, I won't gain weight. Noodles and sweets, seems to be my reason for working. Getting them from my own salary is a joy that no man can give me.

"Want to dance?" a man with dark brown hair held out his hand to me. He looked at me, waiting for an answer. His smile was friendly, not looking like he was trying to flirt.

I glanced at him, then put a glass of wine in his still outstretched hand.

"Sorry, I'm not interested in such things!" took another sip of my wine glass.

He chuckled, then stood next to me, sipping a small glass of wine I gave him.

"I know, people who see you for the first time will know right away." I looked at him confused. He looked at my white sneakers.

"Smart ass!" I answered curtly. Do senakers mean you don't want to dance?

"Haha, have you ever seen a woman dance in shoes like the one you're wearing?" he chuckled again, fiddling with the wine in his glass.

"No! I'm not interested in watching people dance." The man chuckled again. What is so funny? I said seriously. I watch dramas a lot, but dance scenes are also rare. While my favorite Kpop idols also dance, not dance-ouh just remembering their handsome faces makes my heart happy. I smiled a little.

"I'm Ron!" The man held out his hand again, this time inviting me to introduce myself. Well since I'm in a good mood, and he looks like a friendly guy too, I'll take it.

"Lisa!" Ron gave a small smile, glad this time his hand wasn't being ignored anymore.

"Oh, is Jessy your older sister?" Ron asked randomly, devouring the small cake beside him. His mouth was full, making his cheeks puff out. I laughed a little, his hands still busy choosing the food he would put in his full mouth again.

"Yeah," I actually laughed this time,

I don't know if it's just me or not. I was laughing, but as if something terrible was going on, I glared at me.
