As soon as Brendan makes it to Oldale town he visits the PokeCenter to heal his pokemon and goes to the PokeMart right after to stock up on some essentials and some camping gear as getting to Petalburg won't be a one day trip. (This mans dad is a gym leader don't question his money situation).
'Okay Im prepared to head to route 102 now, the trips will last around 2-3 days depending on how fast I want to travel but I've gotta catch my last pokemon over in that route which will take a bit.'
Brendan was walking along route 102 looking around for a certain Pokemon, this Pokemon is Ralts. Walking through the route he's found Seedots and Surskits, but after a while has found a group of 4 Ralts.
Pokemon: Ralts♀ (Light Yellow)
Pokemon: Ralts♂ (Deep Orange)
Pokemon: Ralts♂ (Yellow)
Pokemon: Ralts♀ (Light Green)
'Jackpot yellow and above talent is rare enough but to find Light green is extremely rare! I think the reason of high talent rates theses guys have is because of them being psychic type.' (the highest talent a wild pokemon will have is Blue; the only way to get higher is through breeding).
When the Light Green talent Ralts separated from its group, Brendan pounced on the opportunity and started a battle. When the Ralts saw us, it used disarming voice.
"Poochyena dodge use the trees then use quick bite!" (It's Quick attack with Bite)
Poochyena was able to get a critical hit and get the ralts low enough hp.
"Go Pokeball!"
1...2...3... Ding!
'Nice I should start training my Pokemon and preparing for the gym in Petalburg City'
Brendan set up camp in the forest near one of the lakes and started to get everything prepared to train his Pokemon. He started to get his notes out and tell his Pokemon about their regimen.

Brendans training:
Torchic: Quick NS (Night slash), Improvised flamthrower (Glorified ember), Agility
Poochyena: Quick Fire Fang, Quick bite, Dodges
Ralts: Teleport, Confusion, Disarming voice

Brendan ended up training in the forest for 4 days, a decent amount of time. His torchic was able to master all of the moves taught. Poochyena is decent with his moves and improved agility because of his past training and Ralts has improved its confusion and teleport by little bits.
"Okay guys it's time to pack up! We're heading to PetalBurg City for our first badge!"
Ever since finding those Ralts Brendans luck has been bad. The highest talent pokemon he could find was deep orange, and because of his limited use of his golden finger he couldn't try to find more (limited to 5 tries everyday if ya forgot).
Brendan saw on the official website that for PetalBurg city trainers with no badge vs the team of Slakoth, Skitty, and tailow. While making his way out of route 102, Brendan is planning his fight against his father carefully as he knows his fathers fighting style.
'damn Petalburg is quite the big area'
Brendan closing in on the city with droopy eyes.
