Zuri woke up with a startle, gasping for air. Her body was shivering from sleeping on the stone floor all dusk, but with the cold water splashed all over her, she was close to death.

Her voice sounded unfamiliar to her. So soft and weak. But Zuri was more focused on the pain on her finger.
