She left her apartment early that morning, lacking the usual eagerness she felt before. Instead of going to work, she imagined she was about to go to a funeral. The black business ensemble she wore symbolized the death of her budding career in the employment world.
Still, she was thankful. After yesterday's fiasco, she thought her mother would not allow her to stay. She was ready to defend her choices in life, not easily giving up on her plans, but her mother only agreed to her with not much convincing.
"I can't think about that now." She told herself, shoving the thought of her mother to the other side of her mind as she arrived at her destination. That could wait, but this could not.
She parked her old car by her designated parking lot. Then, she silently watched all the other employees get into the elevators on their way to their respective jobs.
