章節 9: CHAPTER 8
Everybody was in a fighting stance now, ready to fight. But all of it was in vain as Charlie was in his demon form which now had eight tails just like….just like…. Megiculus!
With a sudden flash, one of the tails hit Bruno rendering him unconscious on the spot and the next thing I knew, Carla was on the ground as well. It was just Kaleb and me now.
“Run!” was all Carla could mumble out before blacking out. In a rush, Kaleb grabbed my hand and we ran inside the castle only to be stopped dead on our tracks due to a big rock making its way towards us. Shit! We forgot about the traps. Quickly, getting into the safe room as I like to call it, Kaleb closed the door and made sure it was closed while I frantically looked for an escape spell.
I could hear Charlie coming towards us at a torturously slow pace as if he was sure he could get the Grimoire from me. My heartbeat was increasing by the minute while I skipped through the pages. Crap he was outside the room now, Kaleb was trying his best to distance us with that door while he yelled, “Fast!” to me.
Finally, I found a teleportation spell but before I could cast it the door was kicked back with Kaleb and I both got thrown towards the end of the room. Kaleb stood stumbling and charged towards Charlie only to be thrown backward again which resulted in knocking his head on the wall and slipping into unconsciousness.
It was only me and him now, but I just stood there trembling not wanting to hurt my brother. Looking back at what he did to my friend gave me the strength to fight back and I pulled out a dagger while clutching the Grimoire with my other hand. I slashed his right arm only to be met with a needle which I realized was placed between his index and middle finger.
There was a sudden surge of pain in my right arm, the pain, I knew that feeling from somewhere…..and then it hit me, wolfsbane! The most deadly poison to a werewolf, but there was something else as well. I don't know what it was but the sensation was increasing by the second.
I fell on my knees due to the stinging sensation caused by the poison. I think the other elements mixed with it were also working because with a cry I completely fell on the ground now with my right arm slowly shattering. The pain was incorrigible because all of the bones were slowly and excruciatingly shattering causing me to wail at the top of my lungs.
The healing won’t take place until the deed is done. I was slowly losing my consciousness when I felt two strong arms grab me after, did, one under my knees and the other on my back which I assumed were Charlie's. I opened my eyes for a split second only to see one of his tails had grabbed Kaleb as well, while Carla and Bruno were still in the castle. Well, at least two of them are safe was all I thought before everything went black.
