　　I couldn't believe that the alarm sounded immediately after Desiree had told us we needed to prepare for an attack. Everyone was stunned, but there was no time to ask questions. Kyle and I ran out, and I linked all our warriors. I felt Desiree behind me, and a part of me wanted to tell her to hide, but then I remembered the massacre at the moon territory that happened during the last attack and kept quiet. My father followed too. He was strong and able, and he could fight.

　　"I will only be able to lend you strength, Adam." Desiree said to me, "The bloods are not connected to me. Let the moons lead this battle. They are connected to me, and I can lend them strength," she instructed, and as reluctant as I was, I had to agree with her and do as she had instructed.

　　We got outside where everyone was gathered. The war was at the border, and they had gotten to the moon territories. Everyone shifted, and Desiree came to my side and spoke.
