章節 160: Not as Planned

The wolf was hot. Very hot. Zagan was sweating clutching onto Theo's neck as the lycan ran. And it was not a practical way to travel, because Theo had to keep stopping to allow Zagan to readjust himself from where he had started to slide down on one side. 

If Zagan wasn't sliding off, then Theo was practically choking from how tightly the old man had to hold him around the neck. It would be surprising if they had even made it to the Virginia state line by the time night fell.

"We need to stop," Zagan finally said when he had had too much of this. He slid off of Theo and stretched his body, cracking his neck both ways and trying to slowly work the soreness out of his muscles from how they had been tensed up.

Theo watched him without shifting back. He didn't want to stop. He wanted to keep going, but it was obvious that Zagan needed a rest.
