Theo stood staring in disbelief at the air where Cora had disappeared, stranding him in this unfamiliar place. His mate had rejected him. She didn't say the words, but essentially that is what she had done. She had opened a portal. She had opened a portal and then kicked him out of it. 

Despair started to roll in to his chest like a storm on the shoreline. He had just had her in his arms. He turned his palms up to stare at them. They were empty. She was just under his touch. He could still smell her. He could still feel her. But now she was unreachable. Now he was far south of his pack—who knew how far exactly. 

Theo curled his hands into fists and clenched his teeth together. Had she really done this because he slept with other women before?
