章節 31: 31- Humongous Burden
As was instructed by Daniel, Charles did everything; but he forgot to call the police. He called his friends. His friends were all workers – labourers, garage owners, cow firm owners. All hard workers. So physically strong. Some of them had one or two police cases to their credit – pending in their names. They all were his loyal and faithful friends. He had been always cool and calm around them. He was always forgiving to them. He always sacrificed for his friends, within his limit. That had paid him well though. He was suffering from financial crisis recently and his friends came to his aid. His hotel and other businesses were suffering from financial crisis. Many of his friends stood beside him – lent him some money – assured him – consoled him – suggested him where and how to invest etc. He could not forget their helps. They also said, "We can not forget what you have done for us."
He was glad that his friends stood for him. He was happy. So now he did not hesitate to call his friends asking for help. Because this time he was not asking for help for his selfish reason. Rather it was a humanitarian cause. He clearly told everyone, "If you do not rush to the foot of Malkhan hill with all your force and weapons, two teenagers will die. The Malkhans are going to burn them alive. They are one boy and one girl."
After calling thirty or so people he also rushed for the rendezvous point with his three hotel boys. Two of them were full grown young men. Sturdy and solid. The third one was a teenager. But as he insisted upon going with him, Charles allowed him to come. The other duo came with their knives. Charles pocketed his pistol.
They got Daniel's taxi and started for the place. In no time they were there. After waiting for a quarter of an hour all his thirty friends with their supporters and friends had conglomerated under the hill. A big bunch of almost fifty people. All were armed. On reaching there, Charles killed the engine and asked the teen ager boy servant – Pete, to wait there. "Pete, you please wait here. It is going to be very dangerous. You wait here for the police. When police arrives, escort them uphill. You have a mobile phone? If the police takes too much time, call them to remind them. If police will not come in time we are going to take action. Do not feel disheartened kid. You too play a crucial part. Ok we are leaving you with a humongous burden. We are going. Ok."
