As soon as it was socially acceptable, I asked permission to leave. Damian had a quiet word with his father and then used me as an excuse to leave alongside me.

The feast was now in full swing, which meant most of the 'private' areas were filled with lewd scenes and at least two brawls had enthusiastically played out.

Savages. 

"Are you really pregnant?" Damian asked the second we were out of earshot from the King's guards.

Both his and mine walked in unison behind us, chatting among themselves quietly in their native tongue.

"I'm still just a human, I cannot magic a child by myself..." I spat back sarcastically, still feeling burdened by the memory of that night.

"But I planted my seed that night..." He spoke through gritted teeth, in annoyance at my tone. 

I turned to walk away from him; however, his hand firmly gripped my upper arm. 

"Little human, come to my quarters tonight, we need to talk."
