章節 139: "I'm Sorry."

Vanessa was still thinking about what to do about the situation when Alex returned with the doctor.

"Where is Sophia?" Alex asked when he noticed that she and Tyler were no where around.

"I asked them to return to school," Vanessa said without meeting his gaze.

Seeing the way she was avoiding making eye contact with him, Alex could tell she knew he had found out her secret. 

He had been hoping that perhaps the doctor was mistaken or maybe she was pregnant and didn't know it, but her attitude right now dispelled any such thought.

Vanessa Scott, the same woman he had kissed so passionately like his life depended on it, who he had been unable to think about anything else but her since the last couple of weeks, was pregnant.
