Neither Alex nor Sophia could summon the appetite to eat as they waited for Vanessa. No matter what Alex said, Sophia kept sobbing, and he too wasn't feeling good about himself either.

After some time he looked at Sophia, "I should go and apologize to her," he said as he rose from his seat.

"But you said I should leave her alone," she reminded him.

"She probably needs to vent. She needs someone to get mad at," Alex said, and Sophia stood up.

"Then I should go..."

"No. Just stay here and try to eat while I talk to her. I will try my best to explain the situation to her," Alex promised, and after some time Sophia gave him a nod.

Alex walked away from Sophia and headed up the stairs. For some reason he doubted that she would be in her bedroom. He highly doubted that someone with a temper like hers would go into the bedroom she shared with Sophia when she was that pissed.
