Declan arrived at the hospital in no time. He ran into Francis at the entrance.

"How is his condition now?" he asked, worry making his face pallid. "What do the doctors say?"

Francis shook his head, distressed. "His condition is not good. He is unconscious. The doctors said he had a massive heart attack followed by a stroke. They have moved him to the intensive care unit."

"Uh…" Declan let out a deep sigh, passing his fingers through his hair. He had been so busy with his work and with Yasmin that he had never paid attention to Gerald's health. He was sorry for not checking on him.

"I should have asked him to avoid work-related stress," he lamented.

He had just learned about Grace's illness. And then his father had a heart attack. It appeared as if all of his bad luck had come at once to his loved ones.

"These days, he has been under extra stress because of Sean," Francis muttered, sounding vexed. "I despise that man."
