It wasn't that they hadn't told him before, but he mostly focused on the existence of the virus.
Seeing their powers and how zombies would be able to use theirs intrigued him very much.

"That makes sense," he said when she nodded.
"I will start analyzing your blood soon. Prepare samples. Especially yours," he said, and he gave the cold scientist vibe that hackled Cauis' feathers, who pulled Khalifa behind him.
"You dare!"
"Calm down Caius," she said, "It's just a bit, for the greater good."
Cauis' eyebrows furrowed but he just held her hand, and he led her back to the lobby so they could wait for the others—ideally far away from this freak.
Fortunately, the others arrived less than an hour later, fully prepared for their trip back.
