Their only remaining companions—Sid and Jojo—carried the unconscious Hugo to the upper floor to handle. 

Jojo slashed his long knife at the two zombies that were there. They were an old couple and it broke his heart to do so, as they reminded of his grandparents who raised him. 

Khalifa, on the other hand, was confused and didn't really know the flurry of activity that came after.

She only remembered using all her remaining powers, killing all the zombies in their way to quickly find a room. She quickly formed ice on the door, blocking the way of any obstacle there was from keeping Hugo alive. 

She knelt beside him, icing the wound and Sid quickly treated it. 

During this time, Hugo had somewhat regained consciousness, groggily opening his eyes and seeing his woman frantically trying to save him, tears continuously falling down.
