"Damn baby! Explain yourself already. An explanation I can understand."
The subway area of Blood Castle.
Eclipse voiced his frustrations to Raimon as he picked up the basket the latter had brought. The 8-year-old slightly slurred his words and walked over to the bookshelf.
"How... How can this be... Why is there only a strawberry shortcake with whipped cream in the basket? Are you dissing the Great Eclipse?"
Eclipse was angry... over a strawberry shortcake.
"Ah, geez. Be thankful you at least got a pie. I had to save some of my own."
"Do you think a dragon would feel full over a measly pie!"
"Well, I didn't think dragons could get all riled up over strawberry tarts... but now I do."
The "strawberry pie with whipped cream" was the first gourmet food Eclipse had eaten in a thousand years.
It was also the only food that could satiate his stomach, tongue, and mind in this subway chamber, as he felt trapped down here.
"Don't you feel full even without food thanks to my spiritual energy? Enough of that nonsense of yours."
"You... heartless baby! Don't you know that dragons are picky gourmets? We love to eat. And not only am I unable to leave this stuffy place because of your circumstances, now don't you give me extra strawberry shortcakes?"
Eclipse hadn't left the subway chamber since he woke up and he was very upset.
It was all because of Raimon. He needed to hide his connection to Eclipse until he was strong enough, and Eclipse also believed it was the right choice.
The subway chamber could only be accessed by "knights".
If the family found out that Raimon had been sneaking down to copy the secret books, Raion would most likely ask Eclipse to take responsibility as well, even though he was the family's guardian deity who had awakened from a thousand-year sleep.
In other words, Raimon and Eclipse were accomplices to the same crime.
"You and that gourmet tongue of yours! It was you who said you didn't like any of the food I brought, apart from the cake. Do you think it's so easy to airlift strawberries to this Blood Castle?"
Raimon also wanted to give his opinion on this subject.
Not only was there a constant downpour and strong winds at the castle regardless of the seasons, but it was also located at the top of the mountain. It was not an easy task to supply the castle with fresh strawberries there was already a lot of consideration just because he was the family heir.
Besides, this gourmet sun dragon said that all the other food in the Blood Castle tasted like garbage, and only asked for Reineza's strawberry cake.
"Damn... Is this a time when people can't even eat strawberry cakes with whipped cream properly?"
"There are only 3 years left of this 'time' you're talking about, so finish eating that already. Let's start training."
"It also seems to be a time where rude children mess with powerful sun dragons."

In the end, Eclipse relented.
It wasn't like a non-existent strawberry shortcake was going to appear out of nowhere just because she'd get mad at the kid.
"Delicious... Damn, this is insanely delicious. You said your nana baked it? You should introduce her to me when I get out of here."
"Yeah, yeah, you've said that dozens of times already."
Raimon replied as he shook his head in exasperation.
For the past six months, Raimon's view of dragons had been destroyed by the bum in front of him.
The legendary dragons he had imagined during his days as a child watching movies... The wise, majestic, mysterious, and powerful beings. But the dragon in front of him was childish, extremely capricious, and a complete slacker.
He was always lying down, scratching his groin while complaining about something.
Scratching, scratching.
Having devoured the strawberry shortcake in an instant, Eclipse went back to scratching himself in a... strange place.
The only thing my imagination got right is... how powerful dragons are, maybe?
From the day after their first encounter, Eclipse began teaching Raimon how to manipulate spiritual power along with various types of martial arts.
He was taught the magical circuits in his body that served as the blood system in humans.
Despite never having fought him in person, Raimon could sense how strong Eclipse was through his teachings and guidance.
However, most of Eclipse's strength was sealed because Raimon's "solar spiritual energy" was too weak. Spiritual energy was a necessity for Eclipse's strength and survival, just as the sun was necessary for plants and aquatic life forms needed the sea to survive.
This was one of the reasons why Eclipse had fallen into a deep sleep after the first Duke.
In other words, Raimon was like the sun to Eclipse.
An irreplaceable existence. However, it was a sun that needed to be strengthened. For Eclipse to regain his full strength, Raimon had to grow older and more powerful as his control of spiritual energy would increase.
"Do that spell for 50 minutes and then come down the hall to see me."
"Okay."
After finishing the transcription, Raimon walked out and into the hallway to face Eclipse.
"What did you copy today?"
"The Magno family fencing book."
"Oh, Magno. His swordsmanship was pretty decent."
"Reminds me of how I sunk my teeth into their Duke and killed him about 800 years ago."
"Did you understand any of that?"
"About 50% of the content."
The rest I didn't quite understand."
"Don't be discouraged. It's still amazing that you understood 50% at your age."
To have understood 50% of the Magno family's secret book at the age of 8 was a huge feat.
However, Raimon was left wanting more.
He wanted to be the strongest person of his era and spread his legend across the continent.
This being his second life, Raimon wanted to live without regrets.
If he could not surpass the normal standard of geniuses and be unique, he would again be unable to surpass his father and grandfather.
Speaking of the grandfather I don't know if I should tell him the information about the difficulty of entering at higher levels.
"How much of this book would the first Duke have understood at my age?"
