It might have been a surprise, but Effer had only confirmed what I had in mind, and that was to sort myself out. Though for different reasons. 

I wanted peace of mind… to an extent since I knew that complete tranquillity would never be possible for me as long as things were progressing as I knew it. 

Effer didn't want me to implode which could lead to catastrophic results, alongside her worrying about my mental health.

But I couldn't remove myself completely from the situation, but taking things one at a time would be beneficial.

And letting go of the resentment I had towards Fashire was one of them. It might even be the very reason I was finding it hard to reason with him through his essence alone since we were not aligned. 

But I wasn't sure I could completely forgive him either. Then again, Effer's words about that had warped my view.
