I may or may not have paid attention to the rest of the conference, because just shortly after, something incredibly bizarre happened. And it plagued my mind for the rest of that meeting. I noticed a blurred shift from the corner of my eye, as if a figure beside the King had shifted and morphed. My sight drifted to Paloma and my eyes widened as Paloma detached from herself. 

I don't know how to explain it, but the imagery was so vivid that it shocked me for a swift moment. Whether anyone noticed my expression or not, I couldn't care less as my eyes were fully focused on Paloma. I wasn't even sure Effer had noticed it.
