Silence is just the absence of sound.
At least that's what Ava always thought in the past.
But the silence before her was different from the one she was familiar with.
It was unmistakable, and it pierced through her very being as she continued standing by the window. Her heart was calm, yet she could not hide the sadness in her eyes. Strangely, the room felt larger now. Yet, it was more suffocating, intimidating.
She wouldn't want to stay in this room for too long.
The silence was painful.
It's not just a reminder that she was now alone in their room. It was a reminder of her current circumstances — of their current unfortunate circumstances.
"Are you ready?"
Ava heard Shaman Gaas's voice behind her. She nodded without turning around.
"Matthew and Baba already arrived in Scotland."
Again, Ava nodded without saying a word.
That's right. Matthew is no longer in Alaska. He left.
Without saying goodbye.
Don't worry, the separation won't be very long. There will be a timeskip. :) Please don't forget to vote for the novel! Thanks!
