William stopped the car in the front yard of Marion's residence. It looks dark with no light. She seemed to have forgotten to turn on the porch light before leaving for work, in a hurry because Drake had been waiting outside for quite a while, while she was busy preparing and choosing what clothes to wear.
And now, she's back home safely, but not with Drake.
For some reason, she agreed when William offered to take her home. After what happened at William's adoptive mother's house, and how she treated her, she came to know what it was like to have a mother.
"We're here," William said, turning to look at Marion whose thoughts were still soaring and flying somewhere. The girl gasped and snapped out of her daydream.
"Uh, yeah. Sorry to trouble you, sir. And ... thank you for trying to heal the wounds on my body."
