"Menarx?" Decaron's voice sounded in Menarx's mind, drawing him out of his thoughts.

Menarx's dragon head turned back to Decaron, it was only then he realized he was hovering and they had a destination to get to.

But his thoughts still lingered on Neveah... she was right within Xenon's cave and knowing the fate of all the others sent before her, Menarx was uneasy,

Menarx was not even certain why he concerned himself with this affair, the wolf princess was of no significance to him, 

Moreover, he was strongly against her presence in the keep or anywhere close to Xenon in the first place, he only complied because Xenon's will could not be opposed.

So what was it to him if the wolf princess was all alone with Xenon all this while? 

But the wolf princess did save him from certain death, as unlikely as the situation was, just as Everon said, it was ungrateful of him to act otherwise.
