章節 237: Into the Fire

***JAKE'S POV***

 I felt a rush of burning hot rage when Desdemona Malesandre slapped Alex across the face. I wanted to slap her, to choke her, to hit her, I wanted to hurt her for even daring to do that, but I didn't. I couldn't. I needed to continue to play the part. I needed to be Hayden right now, not Jake. I needed to make sure that I didn't blow this while the operation was in progress, or it would all be for naught.

 But, dammit! It was so fucking hard to not react. It took all of my willpower just to stay put and to keep my face calm. The Keeper better keep their word about this being the last story, because I deserve to be rewarded for this amazing feat of mine.
