Last Tuesday morning, I finally called my mother. I thought she would berate me for what I did, but she sounded more worried and asked me if I was sleeping or eating okay, or if they were treating me right. She relaxed when I reminded her that Val was here with me and that I wouldn't let them treat me less than I deserved.

I didn't want to tell her the details about the events that happened here. I don't want her to worry even more. So our conversation lasted only for a few minutes and then I promised I'd call her often.

After that call, I tried to reach Jino's sister, Mika, but she didn't pick up and she didn't read my texts either. I'd have to keep trying until she talks to me.

I spend most of the day cooped up in bed with my kindle today. Val had to go somewhere, saying it was for work. For what, I don't know. So that's why I'm alone again in this big old house.
