章節 6: Unbelievable
Chapter six
He look back again as if to see what was happening to Jessica behind the bush
But how come? How come Jessica was still alive? She was bitten, severely. Even James that was bitten in the mart has already turned.
So, what's stopping her from turning???
It's already going to be ten hours
What could have happened???

Imagine waking up in the morning to discover you don't live in the house anymore but in the garage
That overwhelming feeling is similar to what the people in the bus are having as the bus move out of the bush unto the street
Noone could talk or speak to each other. John and Mary that were very enthusiastic have since also kept mute after the last incident.
As Max had heard this morning from one of his co-workers at the hospital, the virus was merely like a vaccine. One of the patients was suffering from a very rare disease, a disease they believe could get rampage.
Well, truthfully, three more patients have been diagnosed with the same disease.
According to doctor James, they've used all forms of treatment for the disease all to no avail.
So, they thought of a vaccine to stop the disease from spreading
He was coming from the operation room when he overheard the nurses discussing the issue. The hint there was that the patients have started misbehaving after the injection of the vaccine.
The host can't contain both the vaccine and the disease at the same time.
So, does that mean the vaccine is effective? Yeah, if the host is not having the disease already. But the risk is high. they could mistakenly inject people already with the disease.
So, they kept the vaccine and thought of a way to treat the victims.
They were placed on special observation and fortunately realized the vaccine started eliminating the bad cells containing the disease. But the bad news was that it didn't give way to the creation of new cells.
The three victims died... That was a week ago...
'Dad, is she going to be ok? 'Mary asked Max and all he could do was nod his head and hope she's alright.
'Max, a bus is trailing us! 'Charles, the driver screams suddenly.
Max looks back quickly at the bus and realizes it to be the same one they rode in earlier. The feeling of happiness surged through him at the realization, 'Stop the bus. It's Jessica'
They park the bus and wait. The other bus got closer and parked too. Then, Jessica got downloaded with guns and bombs. She smiles before walking to the other side and climbing the bus to get in
'Jessica! 'Mary scream and goes to hug her
She met her halfway and Pat her back gently. Then she looks at John, 'Tough guy there John! '
John smiles and rushes over to her too.
'We are so happy to see you, 'Steven says all smile
'Thanks for saving my son's life, 'The old woman contributed with a huge smile on her face.
She soon let go of the kids and look up at Max. They stare for a while as if they still can't quite believe they could be there.
'Are we going to stare all day? Jessica says jokily and Max laughs.
'There's a lot I want to discuss with you, 'he looked at the driver, 'Start the car and find a quiet place for us to stay the night. Let me know when you see one so I and Jessica can look around before we sleep'
'Right, 'Charles says and complied
Max and Jessica walk to the back seat, some few seats away from the others
'What happened, you should have turned as look all over her briefly, then back at her face, 'Your face should have changed too'
Jessica sighs and pulls up the sleeve of one of her jackets 'See, it looks as if the wound is healing'
Max stretches over and watches the wounded area. Truly, they seem dried and all glued together, 'It's healing, 'max noted, 'But how is that possible... It shouldn't have been. I need to check your blood to confirm what's happening to you'
Jessica smile, 'At least am alive and well'
'We are here, 'Charles says and park the bus
Max smile at Jessica, 'We have some looking around to do'
'Are you a doctor? '
Max smile briefly as they scout the area, 'Yes, and am a soldier too'
'Maryann, did her mom die as a result of this virus? '
Max shook his head briefly then realized Jessica won't be able to see him cos it's getting dark already, 'No, she died in a car accident 5years ago
Jessica stops abruptly and raises a brow, 'Five years ago? '
'A big moving truck cleared her. And she wasn't the only one that died actually. Lots of people died'
Jessica look away and sigh, 'Yes, lots of people died including my dad'
Max looks at her and touches her arm in an instant and needs to comfort her, 'I think we are safe here. Let go back'
'Help us. Somebody around! 'the voices were very low
'Wait for a second, did you hear that? 'Jessica was the first to speak
'Yes, it sounds like someone calling for help'
'You go to the bus to safeguard others, I will be back, 'Jessica informed and walk away before Max could say anything
Max has never seen someone so brave. How can she be so brave?
He sighs and walks back to the bus.
When he opened the bus, lots of people had already fallen asleep. Jessica was right, someone has to be on the bus to keep it safe for the others. He move nearer to Mary and John and cover them with the wrapper he had kept secured all this while

'God, what do we do?', a male
'There should be someone around here to help us, 'a female voice
'what if we are calling over to the zombies, 'another female voice but different from the first one
Jessica brings out her revolver and moves closer to where the voice was coming from.
It was getting real darker so it was really difficult seeing where she was going to
Suddenly, a flashlight went on. She move closer quickly and discover a car was turned and there seems to be some people in it
'How did you guys do it, 'Jessica says suddenly, startling everyone
'Gosh, that was scary. I thought it was one of the zombies', the guy at the driver's seat says
Jessica laughs briefly, 'Zombies don't speak English.'
The three victims died but they refused to bury them. They still had more observation to do with their body.
It was during this observation when the nail of the victims pierced through the skin of one of the nurses mistakenly
They didn't see it as anything until after one hour when she turned.
When she did, it was so fast. Before anyone could do anything, she had bitten more nurses. And those nurses had bitten more patients. And more patients had bitten more patients.
Max got off work earlier that morning to give his daughter the wristwatch she had demanded severally. He was going back to the hospital that very time when he heard the news of the virus.
He knew about the virus when they started the observation, so he didn't count it as a joke. Instead, he went to his daughter's school immediately but it was too late. The thing had gotten there and almost all the students had gotten infected.
