章節 2: Chapter Two

They had been walking for what felt like hours. Her stomach still growling every now and then. She could feel herself slowly becoming sick from the lack of food. She still had not looked up from her hands either. She did not want to look at the creatures that captured her. If she looked at then that meant she would have to admit everything was really happening. She could not do that. So, she pretended she was sitting on her bed instead of in the scaley smooth arms she sat in now. She could feel his chest move as he exhaled and inhaled. It was a lot slower than hers. Her shoulder rested on the right side of his chest. She could barely make out the rapid heartbeat. She was surprised his breathing was so slow compared to his heart. Slowly she looked from her hands to his.

A single claw was the length of her whole hand. Curiosity got the better of her and she reached for the clawed hand that sat on the bottom of her thigh. She paused for just a second when she felt him stiffen. She pulled his hand up using both hands and placed it in her lap. The palm was a light brown color, but the top of the hand was deep brown. She could see now the difference between the scales on his palm compared to the others. She glided her fingers down his palm and felt him relax a little. It was soft and smooth. Sure, the other scales were smooth, but they weren't soft. Her hand now flat in his palm looked so small. Her fingertips just barely reached the top of the palm. He curled his fingers and claws over her hand. It was completely engulfed by his huge hand. She became thankful that the shirt she wore fit like a dress.

"Are you sure about this Alzie?"

The voice of the second lizard made her jerk her head up. His voice sounded a bit raspy. His horns we ivory colored, his scales a light brown, with orange eyes. Two yellow stripes went from the tip of his nose all the way down to his tail. A few yellow spots trailed down both stripes.

"Well, we couldn't leave her there now could we." His voice was a deep growl like sound. He was so much more intimation than the other. His deep brown scales almost looked black next to him. Where he had yellow lines, Alzie had red. Even his spots were red. His horns were black like his claws. However, the under of his jaw down his neck and stomach was light brown like his palms. "Besides what if she is a small child who got lost." He looked down and met her gaze. His eyes were also different. instead of light orange, they were dark orange with blood read flakes.

She could see the curiosity in his eyes as he stared at her. She immediately looked away, embarrassed that even Lizards could mistake her for a child. When her eyes fell to her lap she realized they were still holding hands and pulled away quickly. They sound of distant voices make her look back up. A city came into view among the trees. No in the trees! Her mouth fell open as the trees grow taller and taller. Soon the trunk of the trees where as wide as the tall business buildings back home. If it had not been for the bright colors of yellow orange and red, she would have never realized that people lived there. Wait could she call them people? Or would she call them Lizards? She puzzled over how she would even address them as they got closer. She could tell from the few words they spoke that they did not mean her harm. At least not yet anyway. She really did not want to offend any of them either. That could spell danger too.

"Lower the rope!"

The sound of Alzie yelling startled her from thought. She watched as a big robe came flying down towards them. Indistinctively, she covered her head afraid it would hit her. With a thud it hit the ground. The thickness of it was about the twice the size of her arm. She was sure it was because of how big the Lizards were.

"Um you're going to have to hold on to me." She stared at him with wide eyes. She was dumb founded. How could her scrawny arms hold on to him long enough to reach the top. "I need both hands to climb." He raised an eyebrow at her as if to question her common sense.

She quickly shut her mouth and wrapped both arms around his neck the best she could. Her hands could not even reach each other. She decided it'd probably help if she used her legs to hang on as well. The smooth, yet sharp, scales dug into her skin. She could let go and escape now, but he had already climb quiet a distance. She did not want to chance it and end up breaking an ankle. Plus, the smaller lizard was right behind them. She watched as he climbed higher and higher. Huts sat on the branches of the trees. Some had bridges connecting them, others only had a rope from which you could swing. She could feel the eyes of all the Lizards on her, and for once she felt like and alien. She tried to sneak back into Alize's frame without slipping. She wanted to hide from the prying orange eyes.

She now knew there was no way she was still on earth. At least not the one she knew. Feeling her arms growing sore and tired, she looked up to see how much further it would be. Once again, she was in awe to see a huge hut. It was bigger than the rest and Lizards with orange markings stood waiting with spears at their sides. But it was not the hut that go her attention. It was the giant leaves in the sunlight. They were so beautiful. You could see the veins inside the leaves. All the tiny details she usually had to squint to see were not visible. She took one hand and stretched it out, smiling at the bright green and dark green colors on her arm and hand.

"How beautiful it must be during the sunset." She whispered.

She looked at her rides shoulder and found herself in more awe. The green colors looked to dance across the brown scales. You would think the greens would disappear on the brown. Instead, it like watching an emerald sea full of waves. She found herself wishing she had her camera. Too paint such a wonderful scene would be a great accomplishment.

"You just going to sit and stare?"

"Huh?" She quickly looked around and realized they had stopped.

She looked back at him hoping he tell her what to do. Close to his face now, she could see the long sharp teeth he had. The red stripes almost looked like blood under the green light.

"You have to jump off onto the deck." He gave her an annoyed look, causing her to shyly look away.

She looked over to the deck. The jump looked far, and she immediately regretted not jumping off in the beginning. She looked back at him, adjusted her footing, and swallowed. She winced at the sound of him letting out a groan. Took one more glance at him, and then flung herself as hard as she good. She was never a good jumper to begin with. She watched in horror as she fell to the deck. Only have her body landed on the deck. Her lower half missed and started to pull her down. She scrambled to grab hold, cursing under her breath. She has not been awake for more than 6 hours at the most. She cannot just fall to her death now. Her hands slipped as they were covered in sweat. The wood beneath her hands shook with a thud making her slip faster. She did not even get to figure out what happened yet! Or why she was there! She let out a scream as she ran out of wood.
