Chapter 104: Ultimate Moves
~Third POV~
[Next Day, UA Highschool, Class 1-A, Japan]
It was the next day when the students of Class 1-A finally arrived at their class as Aizawa spoke up in a stern tone, addressing everyone present, "As I mentioned yesterday… our primary goal now is to get you your provisional licenses."
The class yelled out loud, "Yes!"
Nodding at their understanding, Aizawa continues explaining to his students in a serious tone, getting their attention, "Hero Licenses are inextricably tied to the saving of lives, so one must be properly qualified for such a heavy responsibility. Naturally, the test is incredibly difficult. Even for provisional licenses, on average we only see a 50% success rate."
Izuku muttered out loud in a surprised tone with his arms crossed, "Even the provisional one's hard to get?"
*Flik*
*Shf*
Raising his finger up, Aizawa continued as four teachers, Lady Nagant, Cementoss, Midnight, and Ectoplasm, entered the class he continued speaking in a stoic tone, "That's why starting today, each of you needs to come up with at least 2 Ultimate Moves!!"
Izuku felt chills run down his spine as his dreams of becoming a hero rekindled in his mind, thinking in an excited tone, 'This is kinda like a school thing but totally hero-like at the same time!!'
The students all exclaimed excitedly. Soon, the teachers all began to explain in order, with Ectoplasm stating in a stern tone, "Ultimate Moves! These are your finishers. Your most unique techniques!"
Cementoss nodded his head as he raised his finger, explaining in a stoic tone piggybacking off Ectoplasm, "Internalize these moves. Make them your own until they become unparalleled. Combat is all about finding and making use of your strengths!"
Piggybacking off, Cementoss Midnight raised a finger doing a dramatic pose explaining in an excited tone, "Your moves symbolize who you are! Nowadays Pro Heroes without Ultimate Moves are a dying breed!"
Piggybacking off, Midnight Lady Nagant explained with a light smile on her face finishing the explanation in a calm tone, "Let's move forward with a more detailed explanation and a practical demonstration."
Aizawa nodded his head as he ordered his students in a stoic tone, with his hands in his pockets, "Change into your costumes. And meet us at Gym Gamma."
Everyone nodded in the excitement of creating their Ultimate Moves. Izuku grinned as he thought in a confident tone, 'I guess I'll rely on my Armored Deku for this. Good thing I have her updated for the occasion.'

[UA Highschool, Gym Gamma, Japan]
Gym Gamma, commonly known as the Training Kitchen Land or TDL, is a training area in U.A. High School. Gym Gamma consists of a large, empty, and enclosed space. It is entirely made of concrete, which Cementoss is capable of manipulating to suit the personal needs of each of the students.
When the students arrived at the Gym Gamma by its nickname of the Training Kitchen Lab or TKL majority of the students thought, 'TKL? Sounds so uncool!'
*Foom*
That was when Cementoss used his Quirk as a glowing green light from his hand as he spoke in a neutral tone, "This facility was my idea. Here, I cook up the perfect terrain and objects to fit each student's needs. Hence, kitchen."
*Fwip*
At that moment, Ida raised his hand as he stoically asked his question to the teachers present, "I see… may I please ask a question? Why must we create ultimate moves in order to acquire our provisional licenses? Please explain the intention behind such a requirement!"
Hearing his question, Lady Nagant stepped forward, explaining to the best of her ability in a stoic tone to the students, "Heroes deal with accidents, catastrophes, and disasters both natural and manmade… It's our job to save people from just about any situation. In the licensing test, your ability to adapt to those situations will be observed naturally."
Aizawa nodded his head as he continued explaining after Lady Nagant's answer in a stoic tone, "Intelligence gathering. Decision making. Mobility. Combat Prowess. As well as… communication skills. Charisma. Leadership abilities. The test contents vary from year to year, but applicants are always tested on various criteria."
Midnight soon finished Aizawa's explanation in a playful tone getting the student's attention, "Among the criteria… you can be sure that combat prowess will be heavily prioritized for potential heroes. Be prepared, and you've got nothing to fear! These moves could have a big impact on whether you pass."
Cementoss grinned as he raised a finger, lecturing the students in a friendly tone, "If you can keep a cool head and act with decisive, stable moves, that means you have a high level of combat prowess."
Ectoplasm nodded his head as he gave Ida's power, an example stunning the young man in a stoic tone, "There's nothing that says your ultimate moves must be an attack. For example, take Ida's [Reciproburst]. That sort of extreme speed boost is intimidating enough to be called an ultimate move."
Ida was moved to tears as Midnight gave another example, recalling Kamui Woods's usage of his [Lacquered Chain Prison]. That was when Aizawa dropped a bombshell on the class in a stoic tone as the teachers began setting up the battlefield, "Your Summer Camp was cut short, but the Quirk Training we began there… was part of the process of creating Ultimate Moves. In other words, until the second semester starts… you'll be using the ten remaining days of summer vacation to enhance your Quirks and put together your Ultimate Moves through some extra intense training!"
*FOOM*
*Zwn*
Upon speaking those words, Cementoss created some platforms for the students to use, and Ectoplasm used his Quirk [Clones] to produce copies of himself for the students to practice creating their Ultimate Moves.
Finishing their setup, Aizawa spoke up in a stoic tone, looking down at his students and finishing his explanation, "And… as your Quirk grows and you start to formulate your ultimate moves, think about whether you need to alter your costumes. Use that Plus Ultra mentality to go beyond your limits. Ready?"
Everyone was soon excited to hear the news as Denki spoke up in an excited tone, "This is gonna be good!!"

~Ren Y. POV~
[UA Highschool, Gym Gamma, Japan]
*WHAM*
*WHAM*

*FWOOM*
*KERWHAM*
Everyone's making progress on what to create about their Ultimate Moves. I've been wondering for a while about my own Ultimate Moves with the Quirks I have.
[Railgun] is my strongest go-to finisher if I want to end fights instantly. But even then I need a linear direction to make it work so I'm gonna need to do something else to compensate for the power…
That was when I heard Lady Nagant, my instructor, ask curiously about my lack of action, seeing everyone performing their own Ultimate Move, "Ren-kun not sure what to do making your Ultimate Move?"
Hearing that, I shook my head as I explained in a neutral tone with my arms crossed, "No. I have an idea in mind, but I'm not sure how much control I would have when I make my Ultimate Move."
Lady Nagant merely hummed at my response as she lightly nodded her head in a neutral tone about my Quirks, "Hmm… indeed. Your Quirk is about as far from versatile as you can get. Since you still haven't decided, use today to focus on using which Quirk needs your attention the most."
Nodding my head, listening to her guidance, it was when a new voice popped in, startling a few close to the entrance, "I see everyone's going at it!"
Aizawa turned around as he spoke with a raised eyebrow, "All Might?"
Nodding his head as he strolled inside, he explained himself in a proud tone, seeing his students improving themselves, "I wasn't called in today, but I had nothing going on, so I am here to see how the students are progressing. This is the Ultimate Moves Lesson, right?! Of course, this is something I wanna see. I'm a teacher too, after all."
Bingo. And I just found my perfect excuse.
Having All Might appear, he gazed at the students as he began to go around advising everyone, surprising them. But when he was out of earshot away, Aizawa asked in a stoic tone, judging my expression, "What's going into your head, problem child? I've seen that look, and I can tell it's going to be a pain…"
Wryly smiling, I nodded, agreeing with his words as I bluntly spoke out, causing Lady Nagant, Aizawa, and Ectoplasm to freeze at my bold words, "Yeah… I kind of wanna see if I can copy All Might's Ultimate Moves in actual combat for myself. I've always wondered what our match would look like if I'm being serious if I did go all out, of course…"
They slowly turned their heads towards me as I said those words. I felt a bit uncomfortable with their stares as I couldn't help but exclaim, "What? It was a legitimate question I've pondered. It's not like any of you seen what my limit is any way to know how to properly gauge me?"
Kaina Tsutsumi (Lady Nagant) and Ectoplasm both opened their mouths before slowly closing them shut. But Aizawa on the other hand pondered my words seriously… uh oh I don't like that glint in his eyes.
*Shiver*
His expression slowly shifted into a cold smile I felt a shiver down my spine as he commented in a stoic tone, "You know what? You're right. From what I recall, I don't believe your 'mentor' has disciplined you properly. And it would be ill advice to continue your training without knowing your limits…"
Uh oh. I only meant for my match against All Might as a sign of agreeing with my idea. I didn't mean it literally; you sadist!
Turning around, Aizawa soon spoke up, getting All Might's attention, speaking to Kendo as he froze, listening to his stoic tone, "Oi! All Might! Can you please spar against Ren Yuki to have a better evaluation of his strength? He might need some 'guidance' being your student and all."
Silence. There was a moment of silence. Even Bakugo and Shoto froze up hearing this as everyone slowly turned their heads towards me.
All Might looked a bit stunned before he grinned widely as he agreed to the sadistic man's idea in a heartbeat in a proud tone, "Why, that's an excellent idea, Aizawa! It would be unwise to properly train my student if he doesn't know his actual limits, and this is such an important moment of a student's life when they develop their own Ultimate Moves! Just let me get my Hero Costume, and will take this to Ground Omega, my protégé!!"
*SWOOOSH*
He literally left at that moment, as Aizawa also pointed out, it would be a spectacle in a stoic tone for the students, "While we're at it, might as well make a show of it. Congrats, Class Rep! You get to inspire your classmates with a sneak peek of what facing the Top Hero of Japan is all about while pushing you to your limits."
I shot a glare at Aizawa as he casually had a smug grin on his face. Oh, this man will get it one day.
But my classmates, on the other hand, looked excited to see them whispering. Of course, seeing All Might's protégé go against the master would draw all sorts of attention.
Although Aizawa isn't wrong for me to show me my limit since I hadn't had anyone to push me beyond my limits before. Might as well see how this goes – oh, who am I kidding?
I'm in danger. I'm gonna die now because of Aizawa.
