With each passing day, I was getting more and more anxious. "Will Xavier really not care if I don't return?" I asked myself. My wounds had healed already. For the past few days, I compiled enough energy to break the mana barrier the witches had put on around the palace.

However, what would be the point of running away if it meant nothing to Xavier? I was in a dilemma if I should run away or not. I came to the small balcony attached to my new room in that palace.

Since I came here, it was the first time I asked for something not related to my escape from them. Arendt was confident that I would never be able to break the mana barrier. Hence, he agreed to shift my room to one with a balcony.

I was walking on my balcony impatiently. Suddenly, a man in a cloak appeared. The man grabbed me from behind, closing my mouth. I was startled and wanted to scream. But I couldn't.

The man brought his lips near my ears and whispered.
