Julien’s POV

I shove open the door to my apartment and the stale air clogs my lungs. I rush to the windows and throw them open wide as I cough from the dust floating around me. When the dust settled and fresh air started to flow, my eyes set on broken glass and my coffee table had a crack.

“What the hell?”

Carefully, I maneuvered out of the living room straight to my bedroom. I yank my suitcases out of the closet and plop them down on my bed. I pull a small duffle bag from a panel in my closet and set it down next to my bags.

I have a few hours before Cionna will start wondering where I am. Now that she is alive and Balast isn’t coming for her soul, I have to keep my promise.
