It's been a year since Luna Elise died, a year since I woke up from coma…a year since Emily chose Waylen. A year since I became a father to two children that didn't see me beyond the fun uncle who gets to take them for a sleepover one weekend in a month.

A year since I lost the love of my life…a year since my life changed forever.

it's just one year….an incredibly difficult year.

A year without my mother or Emily or the twins…a year of solitude and incredible loneliness.

I drifted off to sleep reeking of alcohol, praying and hoping I would have that dream again.

And I did.

I stood in a lush meadow, bathed in warm sunlight. And then, I saw her.

Emily.

She smiled at me and I simply watched her…I always watch her. Usually in these dreams she stands still long enough for me to do that but in this dream, she walked towards me, her eyes shining with love and adoration I haven't seen in a long time.
