What is the immune system?
Well, the immune system is a complex network of organs, cells, and proteins that defend the body against infection whilst protecting the body's own cells. The immune system keeps a record of every germ (microbe) it has ever defeated so it can recognise and destroy the microbe quickly if it enters the body again. Unlike vertebrates, plants do not have an adaptive immune system. Nonetheless, plants can launch specific, self-tolerant immune responses and establish immune memory. To promote virulence, pathogens inject effector molecules that target conserved immune signaling hubs into the plant cell.
Leavanny is a Bug/Grass Pokemon. It has both the immune system of a plant and a living being! You'd think Bug Type Pokemon has more bug or insect-like anatomy, and although a lot of similarities, Bug Type Pokemon are not exactly classified as insects, for they are part of the phyla named Arthropoda in the human world. Here? This is the Pokemon World! Evolution went completely differently, and the classification of 'bug' is very broad and difficult to pinpoint. So, back to the topic at hand, Leavanny has a very unique immune system that is like humans but also like plants, which works in a semi-adaptative way... While humans would take vaccines to help their bodies develop a better immune reaction to certain viruses, plants need to perceive their invading virus and activate their response, which is a complicated process.
The immune system of the Grass type Pokemon works similarly, in a way, to a plant's immune system while at the same time working like a vertebrate immune system. Seeing as the moment they can perceive the virus, the virus is annihilated. Think of it like this: While the human immune system has "guards," the plant immune system has "cameras." The guard will perceive an intruder and beat them up immediately, while the "camera" will send a signal to the "guards" of the plant, and then the guards will do their work. If an intruder is sneaky enough, they can avoid the camera and, therefore, be able to invade the plant. The same also happens with the human immune system, the only difference being that the "guards" tell their boss how the intruder acted, so all guards know how to deal with a similar intruder in the future.
Or that's the way it works on the Pokemon World, Darius has never really studied biology beyond the high-school level.
To save the Sewaddles, Swadloons, and Leavannys, he has to either make a miraculous medicine or get a fucking legendary Pokemon to heal them... Which is highly unlikely. 'If I'm not wrong, in the games and anime, a lot of Pokemon got sick...' He must've not gotten the complete information because his job is just a [Beginner] one then. He decided on doing what he could with the information he had, meaning? He decides to try and find one of the many Pokemon herbs: Energy Root. This root is used in the games as a form of quick healing item, while the information he has on that thing from his [Beginner Pokemon Breeder] job. He knew just simple things: [This root contains a lot of energy. Energy, which Pokemon uses to boost their healing.]
That's it.
That's all he has on the thing! So, how is he going to find it? "Sewaddles, can you help me?" He held onto the tiny Pokemon, their Bug essence felt buzzy and weirdly crawly when they were before him, almost as if they were ready to do anything. "I need you to help me find this big root. It kinda looks like a fist!" He showed his own fist and flexed his arm and his muscles, trying to immitate the image of the root: "Can you help me find it?" The little bugs wearing on their leaf capes all nodded excitedly, making cute little noises of "Se!" and "Waddle waddle waddle" as they scattered away in a chaotic manner. Darius also smiled softly to himself before he also followed one of the non-infected Leavanny. These older and more powerful Pokemon had a greater control over their own inner energy, which proved him right when, after a few minutes, the Leavanny suddenly stopped and used its leaf-like arm to slash at the ground with a move Darius could only guess was either [Leaf Blade] or [X-Scissor]. He did feel the Bug energy inside the pokemon move a little, so maybe it was [X-Scissor]?
But from the cut, Darius saw it - a fist-shaped root.
"Oh thank fuck." He grabbed the root, sighing as he did so. Cerberus came close and took a sniff from the big root, making Darius curious and - Huh, when did he learn [Odor Sleuth]? "Cerberus?" The hound Pokemon looked over at him while Darius' mind went over everything he knew about species of animals that had sensitive noses that could find things underground by smelling, and the only thing that came to mind were pigs digging the ground to find truffles. "Can you try to find others by tracking similar smells?" Is there another use for [Odor Sleuth] other than negating increased evasiveness and allowing Pokemon to hit Ghost types with Normal and Fighting attacks? 'Wait, how do they even do that, though...' He didn't need to focus on it for too long because Cerberus started using his new move and looked around for similar smells, as if he had caught a similar bitter and unpleasant smell like the Energy Root, he dashed forward.
Following his small hound Pokemon, Darius trekked through bushes, grass, and roots of trees until he came face first with something interesting - or rather, intimidating. A Heracross and a Pincir fighting. Cerberus had just passed by them. In his mouth, he held what Darius saw was an Energy Root, but different. He didn't think twice. His precious Pokemon had stolen from these visibly stronger and angrier Pokemon, meaning they had to run and fucking fast! He was in no way faster than Pokemon, so he did what his brain told him to do and said: "Leavanny, help!" The big nurturing Pokemon came to rescue, slashing their long leaf arms that glowed with a pale silvery coloration as a blade of air moved and cut through the foliage of trees and bushes - The move was [Air Slash], a super effective Flying type special attack. Right after, the Pokemon glowed with a soft pink-ish coloration as it got faster.
'It has [Agility] and [Air Slash]?' Darius pondered for a moment as his feet carried him faster still - Hey, he was actually kinda fit, okay? I mean, he did get into trouble back on his world... He misses his friends. As he ran past the Leavanny, he turned and looked back for a moment to see it cutting in half the Pincir, followed by cutting the Heracross in half as well. "Holy shit, that was brutal!" Darius stopped himself from running further. His heartbeat was slowing down now that danger, for the meantime, was gone: "Thanks, friend." He sighed before looking at the Energy Root his Cerberus got him... It looked like a normal Energy Root, but its coloration was sickly green with silver dots.

Description: An Energy Root that has absorbed Bug Type energy. It is now more aligned with the Bug Type, granting greater benefits for Bug Type Pokemon that ingest it.

It is recommended that upon use, the one who ate it also ingests a regular Energy Root for controlled and easier digestion.]

"Huh... This is useful." Sighing softly to himself, Darius picked Cerberus up and kissed his little forehead: "Thanks buddy, you did good... But please, never run between Pokemon fighting ever again. You worried me." Cerberus whined softly before nodding, showing him that he understood: "Hey, Leavanny, I think I can try and use this here to help your friends." The big bug pokemon let out this soft "Vanny." Cry before also pointing towards the dead carcasses of the two Pokemon it cut in half. "I mean, if you want to bring it with you, sure!" And indeed, the Pokemon wanted to. It picked up the carcasses and carried them with ease, much to Darius' surprise. 'Well, I guess they are Pokemon.'
Soon, they arrived at the Leavanny territory, and to Darius' surprise, he found three Sewaddles that managed to find an Energy Root! He thanked them and began working on what he hopefully wished would work. It is a root, and roots are known to boost people's immune systems, so he hopes it works. He got his crucible, cut the roots, and separated them in different portions. At that exact moment, he had an epiphany as his [Basic Pokeblock Creation] skill activated, and he had an inspiration.
He needed to find a Shellder.
