章節 34: Crazy Quests
Ruzzel was the first one to dash to the goblin. Of couse as he had never fought before, his way of attacking is awkward and sloppy but that did not stop him from attacking.
Urggh!
The goblin saw him dashing towards him. The goblin made a threatening glare and shook his wooden club.
'At most, the monster's weapon is a wooden club.'
'I can win!'
Ruzzel didn't hide the rising confidence on his face and slowly approached the goblin.
Ehhhhhhhhh!
The goblin raised a tree branch with all of its strength and ran towards Ruzzel.
"Huh, huh?"
Ruzzel uttered a startled sound. Many scenarios were already running through his mind: if the goblin attacked him in this manner, he would respond in this manner, and so on. But, in the end, these were the fantasies of a novice who had never trained to fight with a spear. All Ruzzel could do was swing his spear around as the goblin dashed towards him.
Slam!
"Ahhh!"
Thw goblin was thrown away. Both of his arms bounced off with the spear. The center of his body lost its balance, and his body shook. It was unsightly.
"Ohh?"
While witnessing the action from afar, Cedrick appeared pleasantly delighted.
"A complete newbie was able to block and throw the goblin."
A smile appeared on Ruzzel's face as he can see he can win this.The goblin got up and rushed towards Ruzzel. The goblin swung his club again, and Ruzzel was able to avoid it, but his stance broke. He blocked the next attack with his spear.
'This guys is so weak! It's so slow too!'
Ruzzel was able to dodge and parry the attacks of the goblin. He wondered why the goblins attack was so weak but he didn't know it was because of his high stats.
Ruzzel gave up on evading as the goblin's club slammed into Ruzzel's body a couple of times. Ruzzel received many hits, but because of his armor and excitement, he couldn't feel the pain. Then, before he realized it, Ruzzel's spear pierced through the goblin's head, deep enough for the attack to be fatal.
[Critical!]
[You have dealt 28,045 damage to the target.]
[The target has died.]
The goblin fell with a death cry, and Hans also collapsed to the ground.
'He won?'
Laurence and Joross shouted as they were proud of their younger brother. Seing him beating his first monster, the two of them became even more confident and wanted their turn to come but sadly their is only one goblin.
Cedrick wanted them to know how dangerous a monster could be and assess their fighting abilities. He was surprised to see that Ruzzel was more talented in battle than he expected.
"How do you feel after dealing with a monster for the first time? You don't believe that you can… at least handle a goblin, right?"
Hearing Cedrick, Ruzzel immediately replied.
"I noticed that during the fight is the goblin is so weak and slow master that's why I was able to defeat it Master."
Cedrick wasn't surprised hearing that respond as Ruzzel had 25% of his stats when his stats has already reached five digits. There's no way a weak goblin could handle Ruzzel. However he doesn't want the kids to be complacent.
"It's obvious what you guys like you will think—that's why I asked. It's more important to experience how dangerous a monster is first-hand. You were lucky. Goblins usually travel in groups, and it's rare to see one wandering around by itself."
As soon as Cedrick said that, The sound of grass swaying in the wind became a bit rougher. Goblins soon appeared and surrounded them. There were at least fifteen of them.
Seing the goblins, none of them panicked. Inwardly they were glad as their chance has come. Aftet seing from the fight of Ruzzel, they knew they were stronger than the goblins in front of them as they were blessed by Cedrick.
Laurence and Joross pulled their swords as they got into a fighting stance. The goblins rushed to them and Laurence parried a club. Currently he was Madra's advices on what to do as Madra wanted to nurture his successor.
(Don't panic when an enemy is in front on you. Being a calm when fighting is a rule.)
He listened to him and launched a slash towards the goblin who were caught off guard as the kid in front were stronger and faster than him.

Joross also appeared in the back of the frozen goblins and launches his attacks. Ruzzel on the other distracted the goblins with his spear and occasionally slashed the abdomens but he instantly killed them due to his high damage.
Cedrick was pleased with how great they were doing. They analyzed everything not wanting to make a little error. Knowing that they doesn't need his protection, he looked into his quests as he had not looked at it since evolving.

Cedrick looked expressionless on the crazy quests he got. He wasn't even bothered and surprised like his previous self.
"Just give me enough time and I can complete this."
Cedrick theorized that seing that there was a quest like this, there should be a way to complete it. Cedrick knew that the system wouldn't give him some random bullshit and he was confident that he could complete it.
Cedrick diverted his attention to the kids who had finished up the goblins. Seing them fine like they did nothing at all, they began to enter the mountain's wilderness.

After that, they met more monsters. All monster were taken out by his apostles as eagerness were seen in their faces. Cedrick watched the whole scene as he was impressed and as they didn't show any sign of fatigue at all.
Cedrick continued meeting monsters as he walked through the rough path. They occasionally encounters orcs and wolves but the kid had already adapted as their clumsy movements were rarely seen.
Joyous expression were seen in their faces as they totally enjoying it. Cedrick look at them with a strange face.
"Making an expression that a kid should not have. So creepy."
Cedrick sighed at the thought of children becoming a fanatic of slaughtering monsters. He unconsciously look up.
"The sun is setting. Let's rest here today."
"Yes, Master."
Cedrick then took out some items from the inventory. They prepared their sleeping area, but they had many awkward movements as this was the first time they were doing this including Cedrick.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The faint sounds of wood fragments trapped inside the raging inferno fanned the flames. Cedrick and the kids ate their lunches after lighting the fire. The region around the road was open in comparison to the forest, which was densely forested. The stars could be seen in the night sky.
They talked a lot of things as the merry atmosphere began. The children noticed that Cedrick is just like an open person. You can talk to him casually and he doesn't mind. Smile was seen in their faces as they look forward in the future in serving their master.
Clang! clang!
Suddenly they heard the sound of battles. The three children immediately became vigilant but Cedrick was still relaxed. They check it and saw a lion fighting the people in white attires.
'Who is it during this time?'
Cedrick became curious as he wondered why there were people here in the middle of wilderness where there is full of danger. He didn't believe that there other insane people like them to purposely avoid the road to encounter monsters.
As all of them possessed Draconic Eyes, they inspected them.

Cedrick and the children looked at them and didn't attempt to help seing that they were from Rebecca's Church.
The Rebecca Church is one of the four main religions in Lugatix. Its followers worship the goddess of light, Rebecca.
The Rebecca Church sought justice which was opposing to the Yatan's Church. (That's right Rebecca Church is always opposing the Yatan Church but that would be in the next chapters.)
Rebecca Church was aligned with good. Of course, that didn't mean that they had zero rotten bastards, but they didn't go around spreading evil. Naturally he was wary of them as he didn't like the human nature.
They were fighting and guarding at the same time. Cedrick then inspected the girl behind them.
[Rin- Rebecca's Daughter]

Cedrick was slightly surprised but wasn't bothered as he knew that he didn't knew everything.
Rebecca's Daughters were treated as sacred beings only second to the pope as only them can use the three divine artifacts of Rebecca Church. He didn't expect to meet one so early.
'Rin, the wielder of Ikael's Sword.'
Cedrick continued to watch in interest as he wondered what they were doing here. As the fighting continued, Cedrick and co, noticed that they were being pushed back by Simba. He could see that Rin is capable but she's being hold back as she's priotizing protecting her comrades.
Cedrick chuckled at the unsightly sight of them being nothing but a hindrance. He then glance at his apostles who looked back at him at the same as their eyes were flashing in excitement sensing a fight is coming. He sighed and stepped out.
"You guys look like you were in trouble."
Cedrick said as he approach, then the fierce battle immediately became silent.
"Who's there?!"
The priest reflexively shouted as the paladins took defensive stances to protect Rin and the priests.
"Don't worry. We're not an enemy. If you don't want to that is."
Even knowing they are from Rebecca Church, Cedrick didn't lower his pride to them. No, his dragon's pride didn't allow him.
Hearing him, they sighed and relief but didn't lower their guard. Rin took the iniative talking to him.
"As you can see, this lion us giving us the hard time. Can you help us dealing with him?"
Rin politely asked Cedrick but he didn't act and complied rashly. He wanted to know why he should do it.
"Reason?"
"It's because..."
"Shut up. A filthy nobody like you has no right to dare to talk to Rin-sama casually!"
Before she could finish, a paladin cut her off and shouted with hostility to Cedrick. Hearing him Cedrick's gaze become cold.
[Dragon Fear Activated.]
Cedrick let out his aura making all of them froze. The Abyssal Lion was not an exemption to this. All of them began to shake in fear uncontrollably. Cedrick stated coldly.
"I was just thinking of helping yet insulted to me instead. Your mouth amazed me for a while when your nothing but a hindrance."
Hearing Cedrick's remark, the paladin eyes widened and tried to restort but found out that he can't as he was still shaking in fear. Before he could collect his thoughts, Cedrick continued which brought chill on his spine.
"Don't get full of yourself human."
Cedrick said as his Draconic Eyes subconsciously emerge on its own.
