Matthew fell silent after hearing what Alo said. "And you raised them?"

Alo nodded his head. He then laughed softly. "It is quite difficult to raise bloodsucking children. Moreover, we have to move from one place to another. If I let them, they might die like their parents."

Alo then glanced at Sigmund, who was sitting next to Matthew. He chuckled when he saw Sigmund, turning his attention to the young man outside Alo's house. "Time is moving slowly enough for me and Sigmund, who have lived hundreds of years."

Sigmund immediately turned his attention back to Alo. "That's a long time ago. You don't have to bring up those dark times."

"I didn't think that age made you forget what those greedy humans had done to your family," said Alo.

"What are you talking about, Alo?" Matthew asked. He was curious about what Alo meant to Sigmund.

He took a deep breath. "It's beyond my capacity to tell. You'd better ask Sigmund directly."
