Baldeur fell back on his ass as he tried to keep himself conscious. Nearly all of his Source Energy had been depleted and his body was filled with wounds that were slowly healing.
As his Mana naturally regenerated he opened his secret Dimensional Pocket. He pulled out Source Stones to refill his energy as quickly as possible. The last he saw on the illusionary windows, his companions were at a stalemate with Lord Sathanas' sons.
Once he had enough strength to make a difference he scooped up a bit of loot, hoping that it wasn't too cursed. He left most of the better looking weapons and chests because there was no way the dead demon lord hadn't placed curses on them.
A raven was waiting for him outside of the throne room. He followed it down the hall. The bird continued past Veneris' room but Baldeur stopped to check.
Sure enough she was gone. The rugs on the floor had been removed, revealing a dead teleportation circle. From the look of it, she could have gone all that way back to the capital.
Following the raven, Balduer was led through twists and turns that would confuse anyone. Passageways blended into the walls and he had to stop a few times for secret doors to open for them.
Soon he stepped into the other throne room. One of the sons was already dead and the other was on his knees as Nilo swung his sword, slicing his head off.
Everyone looked exhausted from the fight they had just gone through. The first to collapse was Derbail at the back of the hall. Having just entered Baldeur was the closest to her and was at her side before the others could register her going down or that he had arrived.
"Nice of you to join us." Mathys said and he slumped down using his sword to keep himself from falling over.
Baldeur had ignored him as he sent his Anodular energy through Derbail. He had been a decently doctor in his second life and even though his current aspects weren't the best at aiding healing, he was still able to begin to take care of her condition.
Forcing connections to Aspects of Nature was extremely rare and often had dire consequences. Fiam's regenerative phoenix flames were the only thing that had allowed Derbail to continue moving and use her Source.
Baldeur used his aspect of the Rising Sun to grab onto the remnants of the flames and direct them to where they could do the most good. What little Divinus energy he had was put into a Hymn of Regeneration.
"Hey, stop that. You are just going to make things worse." Fiam stormed over to stop Baldeur thinking her flames by themselves would help the woman best.
"Let him be. He knows what he's doing. In fact it would be best if you could give him more flames to work with." Piaras could see the delicate work that Baldeur was doing and was familiar enough with Anodular healing to know he was helping.
"Fiam please. This is no time to be prideful." Nilo had walked up beside her and placed his hand on her shoulder.
Sighing, she stretched out her hand and soft orange flames floated onto Derbail. Her knees nearly went out as that was the last of her energy.
A weak Nilo supported her to the ground and allowed her to lean her head on his shoulder. Kyriake sat on the other side of him and leaned against him for support.
Haydn and Aisling were supporting Sigurd as they walked over to them. One of Sigurd's legs wasn't bending as they walked and one of his arms was torn to shreds.
Falling next to her, Sigurd placed his good hand on the side of Derbail's face. Haydn sat next to him and took her friend's hand.
Aisling sat on Baldeur's side and placed her hand on his back. She didn't have much Anodular Source energy left but what she did have she transferred into him.
Baldeur had to work slowly because his energy was limited and the work he had to do was complicated and delicate. It took over an hour before he lifted his hands from her body and leaned backwards.
He let his body fall into Aisling for support. There wasn't a need for support as he had his other Sources to keep himself going but she was right there and he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to lean against a good looking woman.
Aisling blushed as she moved her arm around his shoulder to keep him upright.
"Just this once." She mumbled to him. "This won't happen again."
"That's fine. You can use me to lean on whenever you want." He replied.
"Take ten minutes then we need to move out. While this place seems abandoned, we don't know if there are any other surprises hiding around." Piaras had been watching over them the entire time.
"Is she going to be alright?" Sigurd asked.
His condition had improved as Hydn forced him to drink a high grade healing potion.
"In the long term, yes. In fact once she fully recovers, she'll be stronger than ever now that she has four aspects." Baldeur said.
Both Sigurd and Hydn let out the breath they seemed to have been holding for the past hour.
"But, it's going to be a long recovery. I'm not an expert and only made sure her condition wouldn't continue to deteriorate. She's going to need an extensive operation as well as not using her Source for a few years." Baldeur said.
"How many years are we talking?" Haydn asked.
"Probably four or five. And I do mean not using her Source at all. It may be best to get a Source blocker item to keep her from unconsciously casting simple spells. Her navel is cracked all over and could shatter if she tries to use her Source." Baldeur said.
The navel was where Source energy entered the body. Once she was at capacity, no more energy would enter and the area would heal much faster. But if she used her energy then there was a risk of damage as more entered her body.
Right now her navel was held together with phoenix flames and the damage of Source energy entering her body was being healed as it happened. But there was a maximum limit that this could go on.
"Thank you." Sigurd said.
"Where were you anyways?" Mathys had been keeping quiet as every time he was about to speak up earlier, Piaras shut him up with a glare.
He wanted to shame Baldeur for not taking part in fighting who he thought was the Demon Lord.
"This place is a maze. After wandering around I eventually heard the sounds of your battle and made my way here." Baldeur said.
"Wasn't there a raven or some kind of creature you had to fight?" Aisling asked.
"Well there was this succubus type woman but I was able to resist her charms and got away." He replied.
She snorted and thought about pushing him off her shoulder but didn't since he had just saved one of their companions.
"You're not really a healer, so how do we know the woman is going to be good?" Mathys pivoted to a different tactic to pull him down a peg.
"I mostly just redirected the phoenix flames. They were healing everything equally but she needed localized treatment." He said.
"Still, that was some impressive control." Piaras had been impressed at the delicate and small movements he had made with Anodular.
"My tutor had me learn fine control using dead plants. She owns a herb garden." Baldeur said.
He knew it would expose a talent most don't have but training control by bringing dead plants back to life was a common training practice for Anodular healers and Sofia had actually used that method in training him.
Piaras nodded at the reasoning and went back to observing the surroundings with his extended senses.
Once everyone was capable, a stretcher was made for Derbail and they made their way out of the Demon Lord's stronghold.
