The kiss settled weeks of anxiety coiled in Isaac’s muscles. He felt thirty pounds lighter.

Pulling away, they leaned their foreheads against each other.

“I guess this means you still want to see me?” Sean asked.

Isaac laughed. “Yes, I still want to see you, and I want you to stop ignoring my texts. Being ghosted sucks.”

Sean pulled back to glare lightly at him. “Yeah, tell me about it.”

“Agree that neither of us will do it again?”

“Agreed,” Sean chuckled.

They sat back against the wall once more, leaning on each other, their hands still wrapped together.

Isaac hadn’t felt this content since the beach. “I love you, by the way. Just in case the kisses weren’t clear.”

Sean hummed. “Probably best to use words when it comes to us. Speaking of, can I ask you something?”

“Of course,” Isaac answered.

“I don’t know why you forgave me. I’m grateful, don’t get me wrong, but also confused. I can’t fix what I did.”
