Silence.
Once I made my declaration, silence permeated our entire surroundings.
I watched my doppelganger close his eyes as he inhaled deeply. The fact that he had heard me out without uttering a single word showed that my words had made an impression on him.

"Are you done?" He interrupted abruptly.
"What do you mean?" I responded, not expecting a response so soon.
"I mean, are you done spewing all that idealistic bullshit?" He retorted.
"Ahh..." It appeared that I had raised my expectations a little too high.
This was someone who was willing to wipe out an entire race in the pursuit of his personal desires—someone who had spent over a hundred years going down this path.
'He's not going to change that easily.' I thought to myself.
"What you're essentially saying is 'be nice to people, and treat them well, instead of looking out for yourself.' That's a very stupid philosophy!"
