The Alpha had ordered a car to take them into the human town. For a moment, Jade wondered how far the town could be but then again the man traveling with her was an alpha.

The primal instinct inside him was to be on the top of the food chain and what better chance would he receive to tell the measly humans that he was better than all of them.

Judging by the state of the humble human town, the townsfolk would no doubt be attracted to the power that Malfrid was exuding. As an Alpha, he reeked of status and lavish wealth, things these common people didn’t own.

The hum of the car made her restless. The proximity that they were in made her feel even more so.

Glancing at him, she turned back to look outside. People must know who he was because the town neighboured the pack borders, making it inevitable for them to not figure out that there were wolves living around.

"Your heart is beating quicker," he noted and she could feel the burn of his eyes on her face. "Are you nervous?"
