Chapter 42: The lovely Call
Maria's POV
"Marie, Zia is here," I heard her say. I said a silent prayer for this little time I got to gather my thoughts.
"Hello, Zia. How are you?"
"Sto bene," She replied excitedly.
"Good. I'm grateful Ursula has not given you a heart attack already," I teased, and she laughed like I knew she would. Zia found joy in everything. She was never gloomy. Always the ray of positivity in a dark cloud, and that's why everyone loved Zia.
"Shut up, Marie! Zia said I'm a good influence on you," Ursula bragged. I could picture her pushing her tongue out in a childish way.
"She was probably trying to make you feel better."
"Okay, that's enough, girls," Zia said, sending a pending war of words. We humbly obeyed.
"So Marie, what was it you wanted to ask of me? I also have something to tell you, by the way."
"Really? Okay, you go first," I said to Ursula, but she refused.
