Chapter 41: The Defense

Maria's POV

Picking an outfit for the day seemed more hectic than usual ever since Vincenzo said he didn't want me wearing the maid outfit. I wasn't planning on obeying him. Disobedience was supposed to be the order of the day. 

Then I remembered that I needed to ask a favor from him, and to do that, I needed to be in his good graces. I initially planned on wearing something for the heat, but the weather was incredible today. So I decided to go for just a hoodie and shorts. It's not like I was going anywhere. 

It almost looked like I was on some vacation, except it was more indoor. I quickly dressed up and let down my hair. I seem to be doing that more often now. It wasn't always so. I hated my hair a lot, but everyone kept telling me how beautiful it was. I guess I believe them now.
