Rowan huffed and finally managed to slide free from under Erebus and the ridiculously slippery sheets that wanted to hold him captive. He sat on the edge of the bed, pretending not to struggle to catch his breath from the minimal exertion of sitting up. 

Ozul watched him from his place against the wall behind Yamm, where he stood half in and half out of the shadow cast by the bed's canopy. Erebus watched him from his spot on the bed.

"I know you think Wren's heart belongs to you, but it doesn't." Rowan leveled his gaze at Yamm. "If you plan on using it and *me* against him, I won't let you do that."

Rowan was fully aware of the fact that there was little he could do to stop the god from doing whatever he damn well pleased, but he didn't care. Right now he was talking to Yamm as Wren's father, not as the god who thought he could have anything he wanted just because he wanted it.
