Rowan never felt so relieved to be home. Wren deposited him in the middle of his bedroom, holding him for a few heartbeats longer than necessary after the shadows faded away to the liminal realm where they belonged.
Neither of them spoke when Wren gently removed Rowan's bloodied tunic and made him sit on a stool as he tended to the wound on his arm. Wren's eyes filled with dismay when he saw the thin line of burned and torn skin that encircled Rowan's bicep. He healed it as much as he could with his magic, but a pucker of red remained, along with a persistent sting that Wren couldn't completely remove because he'd inflicted the damage himself.
"I've ruined your skin." Wren's voice was sorrowful as he dabbed at the wound with the wet cloth he was using to clean the blood from Rowan's skin.

LivChanin I really would be happy if the only thing our guys had to do from here on out was eat cake and...ahem, "relax" together. But alas, we have a long while before that can become a reality. Also, I tried desperately to convince Yamm to allow me to name him something else, but he is even more stubborn than Wren. He thinks Yamm is the most kick@ss name ever and doesn't care at all that it sounds like a sweet potato. I hope you will enjoy the character as much as I do.
